Question about Garden
Nothing dont know what to do has new spark plug ,oil is fine, new petrol
1. Did you hit something with the blade? If you hit a root with the blade, it can bend the woodruff key on the shaft that the flywheel sits on. This will throw it out of time. Would need a new key. 2. Check the spark plug again and see if it is wet with fuel or looks black. You alway want to check for spark 1st (remove spark plug and attach a spark tester). Determine if it is a spark problem, then move to a fuel problem.

White smoke in a small engine is oil. Oil in the cylinder will create too much pressure for the engine to achieve compression. Make sure the engine is not getting fuel into the oil and thinning the mixture (literally smell the oil... gasoline and oil smell nothing alike, if it smells like gas, it is). If this is the case, the carb is leaking fuel into the engine, thinning the oil and causing the oil to leak past the rings into the cylinder head, through the valves and, from there, into the exhaust to burn off. Black smoke indicates a direct fuel issue in a small engine, white is oil based.

could be bad gas, but it sounds like a choke problem. did it sit over the winter with less than a half tank of gas in it. try putting some rubbing alcohol in the fuel or draining the tank and disconnecting the gas line so you can drain the gas out of the carb. also check the gap of the spark plug and make sure that is correct. when was the last time there was fresh oil put in. also check the air filter, it could be full of dirt.

Are you trying to start the machine without sitting on it? There may be a kill switch under the operator's seat that won't let the engine start without the operator sitting on the seat.

SOURCE: What is the 2 stroke
hi there keithprobert
the ratio to use if using top quality 2 stroke oil is 50:1 that is 20 mills of 2 stroke oil per 1.0 litre of petrol that you mix.
but if not using top quality 2 stroke oil use ratio 25:1 that is 40 mills of 2stroke oil per 1.0 litre of petrol that you mix.
