Question about Ricoh Aficio 2035E Digital Copier. 35cpm 11 x 17. Toner included. T
FAINT COPIES RICOH AFICIO 2035E I have been experiencing the following problem for a while but it clear if I perform the following solutions. When I ADD TONER MANUALLY add toner in the developing unit. Then i distribute it by turning the big drive gear/paddle(not sure it actual name). BUT THE COPY WONT BE CLEAR then 1. Am forced to reset VREF MANUAL REF(2220) TO 4.5 VOL........(most of the times is normally low.) 2. Then TDS MANUAL SETTING VTS (2802) TO 4.0 (most of the times is always high). This makes the copy okay. But as I make copies it will continue becoming faint and faint. Am tired of repeating this.can this machine set me free. Also at times it shows the TONER SIGN but the screen shows SUCCESSIVE PAPER MISFEED OCCURRED. Yet there is no paper misfeed and toner is full. This am forced to clear the memory (5801) and restore factory setting( #*) before embarking on resetting the VREF MANUAL REF (2220) and TDS MANUAL SETTING VTS (2802) as above. What could be the problem?????? I have tried 2 different technicians but after some times the problem reoccurs. I have also been adviced to change the developer twice but after changing after a month the same problem reoccurs. tired
Bad toner hopper, the mylars fall off blocking the toner from coming into the developer assy, replace the hopper. -Carl

YOU CAN TRY THIS.
AFTER YOU DO MEMORY CLEAR THEN YOU HAVE TO FIRST DO FORCE TONER SUPPLY UNTIL THE IMAGE IS GOOD ENOUGH AFTER THAT RUN THE ID SENSOR INITIALIZE. I HAVE AN EXPERIANCE A FEW YEARS AGO AND I DID THIS WAY AND ITS OK. ( MUST CLEANS THE ID SENSOR BEFORE DO INITIALIZE)

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Are you a tech? I suspect not. You need to remove the drum unit, disassemble, separate the drum from the development unit. Remove cover of developer unit, add developer, reassemble, and run SP2214 to calibrate.
This is NOT a procedure to be performed by an end user...no disrespect intended.

The partial faint copy in your case is most likely toner on the laser optics. It is NOT the fuser.
Since you are indicating a toner dusting or spillage issue into the bottom or perhaps paper tray area then this toner is also most likely on the laser optics. This blocks a portion of the laser light and results in a faded or sometimes even blank portion of the copies. Dis-assembly of a portion of the machine is going to be required to clean the laser.
It is located between the toner cartridge and the Drum/PCU unit at the bottom of the machine. So if you open the front door where the toner cartridge comes out. The laser strip glass would be below and to the right of there the toner is. Some of these still have a small metal cover/clip that you can remove and then slide the laser strip glass out and clean it then re-install.
Hope this helps. If this makes no sense or does not help then it might be a good idea to call a service company and have the machine cleaned.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

What type of environment is this copier in? Standard office, warehouse, etc. If the temperature in the area fluctuates a lot, that could have something to do with your problem. Usually ghosting problems like that originate in the fuser. Try increasing or decreasing the fuser temperature to see if that fixes the issue.

If the sheet of paper is damaged there may be a blockage in the paper path. If the path is cleared and it still damages the paper then the feed rollers could be worn. Question for you, when the paper gets damaged does it fan up like an accordian? if so there is an issue in the fuser section. Hop this helps
