Theron is right on with this. If you still have sim card problems you may have to contact your service provider also.

Check to make sure phone is registering in network. Check a network is selected. Try the following.
APN & data settings To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.
  4. Tap More networks.
  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap Access Point Names.
  7. If available, tap the T-Mobile US APN (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap the Menu key, and then tap New APN.
Note: To reset your APN settings, tap the Menu key and then tap Reset to default.
  8. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
    • APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    • Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APN's>
    • Bearer: Unspecified
  9. Tap the Menu key.
  10. Tap Save.
  11. Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile.

Manual network selection To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.
  4. Tap More networks.
  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap Network operators.
  7. Tap Search now.

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile's calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

Switch 2G / 4G To change the band between 2G and 4G, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.

  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap Network mode.
  7. Tap one of the following desired band settings:
    • GSM / WCDMA (auto connect)
    • GSM only (2G only setting)
    • WCDMA only

Turn on / off Airplane mode Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.

My lg spectrum will not get service anywhere how do I fix it

A trick for that, (it's hit or miss) Going off of my Samsung phone
  • Go into settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks
  • Disable your Mobile data, then back up and put the phone in airplane mode
  • Then reverse the steps
Alternately you could have an antenna issue, potentially disconnected or just a bad receiver

Zte 800 no service

One trick is to go into settings and go into mobile networks and turn off your mobile network connection. Then put the phone into airplane mode. Give it 30 seconds then take it out of airplane mode and turn on mobile network if it doesn't automatically. Also just try rebooting the phone.

If you're out of your home cellular network (T-Mobile) and you're in another country, maybe you don't have the roaming service active in your number profile, then you can have an error message, but if you have roaming activated, sometimes it's necessary to manually register into one of the available networks where you are.
