My usb modem shows not recognized device plz help me 2 solve !!!

since your recieving this error message when you plug-in your usb modem
the reason behind this is its not compatible with your system or you just need to install the driver for your modem.
do you have any cd installer that comes with your modem.
if you do all you need is to install the software for it to be recognized by your system.

No CD included for set up

You should be able to download any necessary software (from a friend's internet connection) and complete your install. Most modems do not need a software disc, just need to be setup and most can be setup using your own web browser. Here's a link to download a PDF of the manual for that unit, as well as software and drivers.

Bought new usb zoom external modem for my windows xp

Best thing for you to do is go on the manufacturer site ... of the modem and go under support and download the latest drivers and software for the modem. There has probably been some updates since the modem has been sitting on the store shelf that address your problem installing the software. I hope this helps.

Run Installation Wizard..

Yes. This means to say that you need to install all software that came with the modem, contained in a disc before connecting (installing) USB cable or anything else. After installation of the software and computer is restarted you can now then connect all peripherals for modem connection.

Yes you can use USb modem, you need to uninstall modem software, disconnect modem and reinstall software configuring it as usb. Start installation with modem disconnected and follow User Guide SBG900

Note: usb modem is much slower than ethernet modem (even if you use same machine) . Instead of using modem as usb I suggest using an external Usb Network adapter.
