Question about Acer Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My Acer Aspire Laptop has black spots on LCD panel. These were created by ball hitting the LCD panel. Is it possible to remove these spots without damaging the LCD, if yes then how. Otherwise would it be required to replace the LCD panel with good one?

NO the damage is permanent. I would consider a new laptop, it will probably be less costly and obviously newer. You can also get an inexpensive monitor (less then screen) and plug that in.

Sorry the answer is not nice.

Hi Jim,

this seems like a no boot / no video kind off issue and mostly is coz of corruptions in softwares or drivers, try booting the computer in safe mode. if it does, then take a data backup. i would not recommend experimenting in this issue as it can crash the computer.
hence call 1-877-805-1027 for expert help.

Acre aspire one N 570 screen is white with colored lines and black spots

Oh dear. I think you havr a GPU issue and need a mother board repair. There are companies advertising on ebay that offer a "re-balling" service for the GPU.
Got to be cheaper than purchasing a new laptop.

I have an Acer Aspire 5515 laptop. My computer will turn on but it shows a black screen. I've tried turning it off and back on again. Removing the battery but it hasn't helped. Any suggestions??

Wow this is tuff,
Setting from keyboard, possibly.
Software, not likely.
Video Card, possibly.
LCD Screen, very likey.
But with no screen you options at home are limited.

There is a setting on laptops that allow you to send the video output to an overhead projector and cuts the laptop screen off. However, when you re-boot it usually defaults to the screen.

I betting on a screen failure. You may want to take it to a PC Repair shop. Or, buy one here,

I have an Acer Aspire One netbook. My son hit the

If you can not get the one to toggle to an ecternal monitor there are other issues at hand other than a bad or damaged screen. Try to use a vga cable and attach it to the external monitor. If the laptop does not immediately pick up the signal on the vga cable, you can toggle it on by holding down the Fn key and pressing the F5 key. This toggles the display from lcd to external to both to just one or the other. If you accidentally hit the F6 key, that turns off the backlight to the internal display and the screen will go black. In most cases, when someone strikes a laptop screen there is the possibility that the data cable on the back of the display can come loose. In that case the lcd would have to be taken apart and the cable checked. In your case, the cable should be checked at both ends. I am giving you a link below to click on, it is the link to an illustrated service manual that you can use free to copy, print as a refernce in disassembly and maintenance......

Toggle Between Laptop and Monitor

Fn + F5 toggles the display output, the trick here to wait each time you hit this combination because it goes through several options. Hit it once and it may want to go to just the external, then both the laptop screen and the external. etc. Now Fn + F6 turns the backlight bulb off on the internal monitor to save energy. Now I am giving up the link to your service manual, it is in PDF format so you can make a copy for yourself and keep on the laptop, print it or save it to a flash so you can reference it later. I believe if you take the keyboard off and disconnect the video lead on the left side where the display plugs into the motherboard, then when you power the laptop back up it will default to the external cord and you can use the laptop without any switching. That is what I am doing with an Aspire 5920 that I am rebuilding. Good luck, ParrotHead PC Repair

HELP

There is not much you can really do to rectify a screen problem, but there are four little black blanks in the corners of the screen, remove and see if any tightening or loosening of the screws alter it. Caution applies as the wireless receiver is built in the screen and can get damaged and that may also be causing the interference.
