Question about Samsung Televison & Video
Most TV remotes Have no home button. the have a power switch when switched on most all buttons are then active, press the input to change the mode, press the menu to change the settings.

There is most likely dirt below membrane preventing contact. Remove batteries, open it up, wash rubber membrane in warm water with dish washing detergent, dry it completely. Also, use some alcohol and cotton sticks to clean contact on the remote control board.
