I got a HP compaq nx 7010 for 6 years now and I have been noticing that USB is not working on it. I tried fix it with the help of some technicians but to no avail. Can you please help me to solve this...

1.if your USB connector isn't working it is due to a broken ground point on the mother board or a cold solder joint. Cold solder joint are from improper solder flow and releasing the soldering iron to early > resulting in poor contact with the trace points on the component placement.
2. the connector itself could be defective and needs replacement > female USB port have 4 connectors that have fine tolerance and if one is not contacting then the computer will not be able to see the connection > therefore rendering an error.
3. there is a 5v supply to pin 1 called(vcc)

I have a tti cb radio but the wires have come away from the mic but i dont know what colours go to what number can you help

one should be a ground. look at the board were the wire is.. and its obvious that its a ground pin 1. then should have 3 remaining. one will be tx.. touch the others to ground to see which one makes it tx.. theres your pin 3 tx.. on a galaxy pin 4 is not used. thats rx pin4 cobra radios would have a increase in rx audio when this is connected to grnd. the last would be audio. once you find grnd and tx. reconnect mic and put to pin 2 audio. the last 2 wires that gives it audio..

My computer does not have a 9 point serial port so i had to use a usb adapter instead. I can't communicate to the plc though. any suggestions?

The 9 pin serial port, dosen;t always have all the "lines" that are in the 15 pin. (obviously) normally ya need Tx, RX RTS, CTS. You need to find out exactly what lines are needed. Make sure via metering that they are all there. Also it may need to cross-over ie: Tx goes to Rx and Rx goes to Tx. Try using a Null Modem. OR try a USB to 9 pin Din serial adapter.

The mic doesnt work ...it use to but all the sudden it quit doesnt even key up so i can hear it my talk back

First, try another mic on the radio to be sure it's the mic and not the radio causing the problem. If it's the mic, check the wiring circuits for a bad switch or broken wire. Simply...the TX circuit is closed and the RX is open when the key is squeezed. The RX circuit is closed and the TX circuit is open when the key is released. Use a simple ohm meter to check for resistance between the pins on the mic (after removal from the radio of course). Open circuit will read 1, closed circuit should be very close to zero. You'll probably find the TX circuit never closes when the key is squeezed. Could be a broken wire or faulty switch in the handset.
Also check...If the mic "keys up"...you see the meter move normally, but no voice...it's either a faulty mic element (the little round thing you talk into) or the audio circuit of the radio has a defective component which a good CB shop can replace.
