How do I replace a ribbon element in a Viking oven.

I am trying to remove the old element. It's hanging by the wires but I don't know how to get to the ends of them to unplug them.

SOURCE: GE Oven bake element not work

It sounds like a problem with the selector switch. You have to remove the back panel to get to the back of the switch in the head unit, and find what wire goes from there to the bake element. With a meter set on 240ACV, or whichever setting is on yours that's HIGHER than that i.e. 400ACV, with the red probe on the terminal and the black one going to ground, see if you are getting 210-240 through it. If so, then it's either a faulty neutral wire connection (the other wire coming out of the element) or the selector switch. Hope this helps.

I have a Thermodor SCD302ZP Double Convention Oven. Does the lower heating element come out from the front of oven or do you need to gain access to rear in order to test/replace it? I removed the...

that model number doesn't come up.first make sure the power is off to the machine, you have 240 volts going to that element, all the thermodor ovens i worked on come out from the front, there should be two phillips screws holding it in place, remove the screws and pull the element forwards, some of them you have to lift the element up the end that goes through the wall is bent up so the wires don't hit the metal wall behind it.on some the wires are very short so don't be surprised if they pop into the hole on you,try to hold it with a needle nose, have the other element in there and stick the wire right on the new element so you don't loose the wire into the hole,if that happens you might have to pull the oven and remove the back panel.good luck and i hope this helps you

I am trying to install my oven element. I am replacing old one. Oven is Westinghouse Model POL667S

tand pull the elelment out about 3". The element should lead back to a small plate at the back of the onen. Remove the two screwsi at the back of the oven.
Pull the element out about 3" and this will expose the connecting
wires, dissconnect them and remove the element. To install the new one, Just
do the removal procedure from last to first.

Needs bottom heating element where can I get the part?

If you are sure the element is out and I am sure you know, be sure to write down the name of unit, model, serial, and if it has one the product number. you can take out the bad element and take it along also to any appliance parts house. Just look in the yellow pages.
BE sure that you turn off the power before removing old element!

Oven element replacement- Simpson eziset electric

hiya
firstly make sure the power is isolated before removing any panels.
sometimes the element will just screw out from the inside of the oven and should pull through into the oven compartment with the wires attached, simply remove the wires, replace the element and refit any panels.

hope this helps

please dnt forget to rate the helpfulness of this reply thanks kj

Viking oven won't turn on

I had same problem (twice) with my Viking dual fuel range. In my case a relay that supplies power to the oven heating elements failed. The convection fan would run. The elements were warm to the touch. If you have a free standing range, it may be that relay (part number PM010026) which is located in the front of the stove. Remove a long narrow stainless steel panel (1 screw each side) located under where the door hinges. You can hear the relay click when you turn up the oven thermostat. That will help you locate the relay.

Note: Viking does not sell parts. You have to find their parts distributor for your part of the country.
