Question about Viking Ovens
I am trying to remove the old element. It's hanging by the wires but I don't know how to get to the ends of them to unplug them.

Also I need to know what ribbon you are referring to as in the location of which component you are referring too wold greatly assist me to assist you. It sounds like a problem with the selector switch. You have to remove the back panel to get to the back of the switch in the head unit, and find what wire goes from there to the bake element. With a meter set on 240ACV, or whichever setting is on yours that's HIGHER than that i.e. 400ACV, with the red probe on the terminal and the black one going to ground, see if you are getting 210-240 through it. If so, then it's either a faulty neutral wire connection (the other wire coming out of the element) or the selector switch. Hope this helps.

hi there green and yellow is allways the earth connection which is usually the middle tag, what are the colours of the remaining wires and how many are there???

its only screwed in to back wall no???if screws rusted well then drill htem out.hidden bake elemnet??hidden under oven cavity??in that case right side wall of unit comes off( a few screws down back side of panel and it removes from the side.(shut power first this element is always live!!!!!!!
