Ours had a burnt out fuse I went to an electrical shop with the old one and replaced it. Works good now. Make sure you don't have a circuit breaker that has clicked off.

You could have burned something out on unit. Check fuse or contact GE. Look in manual for trouble shooting tips.

Microwave hums when door close and power is off

Is it a fan noise you hear? Or is it more like a transformer noise? You may have a bad door switch, or you may have a sticking relay on the control board. You probably need to call a professional repairman to trouble-shoot and repair your microwave oven.

Doesn't heat anything

It sounds like the micro generator has died.

Yes, you should buy a new one as the cost of repair is likely to be high.

Kenmore Elite worked fine for months, then went dead. No screen, no power, nothing. Cord is plugged in, fuse is fine, circuit breaker is fine also. Any ideas?

This will require trouble shooting with power present and a qualified individual should do this. Verify power at the plug and trace to the board. It could be a bad wire, loose connection, open cavity thermostat, or a failed board assuming power is available and the fuse is good.

Our Bosch microwave oven is not heating. Is there anything I can do to trouble shoot?

other than making sure the settings are correct on it? not really...

you can unplug the unit for about 2-3 hours, just to let all of the internal power drain, and reset itself, but thats about it. if that doesnt work, you're looking at either a warranty exchange, or buying a new unit.

DO NOT attempt to service the microwave by yourself, because some parts of it can hold power for quite some time, and WILL kill you in you come into contact with them. also, other parts of the microwave emit radiation, and more so if they have power running through them. it's best and A LOT safer for you and your family, to just replace it.

I WOULD SAY REMOVE THE CABINET FIRST AND GO FROM THERE. IF YOU HAVE NO POWER THAN CHECK THE FUSE.

Trouble shoot microwave

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Also, are any other of your electrical items (light bulbs, DVDs, etc.) failing lately? This could indicate improper power line voltage.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.
