Delia above is correct. Singer has many old White model machine Manuals on their website for free download. I haven't researched the company histories, but the White 999F looks EXACTLY like the Eglin 999F; so it should work fine for this machine. (I found one Elgin 999F in a thrift store, it beckoned me, and I bought--here's hoping it works OK) =) It is an OK scan on the Singer site...the right edge is messed up on most pages, but it is good enough to be serviceable. The direct link for download I found is:
The link to the manuals page is:http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals
Just like the instructions say, try leaving the Letters out of the model number and the search seems to work well.
Be Blessed! Good Luck!
Also, I neglected to Mention some important information.
The Manual is titled "WHITE MODEL 1010" and the Singer Download has "988,999,445" written by hand on the scan. Again, the illustrations of the machine are exactly like the Elgin 999F. I took my machine apart to oil it the other night and again, it's identical. No compatibility issues. I also found another download for the manual here:
It's a better scan without some of the illustrations cut off. The singer scan is available at manualslib.com as well. Between the two scans, you can put a nice clear manual together. =)
Here ends the exhaustive information overload reply...for now.... =)
