SOURCE: Lombardini diesel generator starts and runs fine but no elecpower

remove the covering panel and expose the internals , check for loose/disscontected push on ( lucar ) connectors , if these are fine it is most likely the excitation capacitor is deffective , replace with exactly the same value/voltage rating/duty cycle . the capacitor is usual 1 or up to 3 cylindrical tubes with 2 wires comming from them , always take a note of exactly what wires you have taken off :) hope this helps

SOURCE: Honda EU2000i generator overload alarm

Hi, well the Red Light indicates an "Overload" situation, now if this occurs and there is NO Load connected, then usually this indicates a rather bad fault. Most often within the control & regulator electronics, there is NO "Quick Fix" sorry.... Most likely you have short circuited regulator components? But without examining the unit, this is pure speculation, based on experience.
You need to obtain a service manual, see link below to understand what I mean, in this manual, it will give you troubleshooting steps to perform to isolate and hopefully repair your unit.

Now if you don't wish to DIY, then the best thing to do is to contact a Honda generator repair center, and get the unit inspected by them, as usual ONLY ask for a "Quote" as to the costings, when you have been made aware of these, well then you can make up your mind as to what to do, repair or replace?

Sounds like a bad switch or a ground fault issue. I have also seen engine governors that do not kick in quick enough and causes a problem

Champion 71000i generator overloads

Can you provide more detail on this? Such as under what conditions it overloads, and how much power you're drawing off of it? Keep in mind that generators have two ratings: Sustained Load and Peak Load. Mine, for example, can handle a sustained load of 1,750 watts, and can handle short-term peak loads of 2,000 watts. Note also that if you're running a microwave, they take a lot. So does anything with a motor in it (refrigerator, etc) on initial start up. Once you've added up all your loads, adjust to where you're within your generator's sustained load and you should be fine.

Have a code for misfire on #6 cylinder on a 98gmc Sierra 7.4L where should I start to ck?

Hello, Your #6 plug could be oil fouled from a bad valve seal or bad rings. You might get lucky and it could just be time for a tune-up.

I bounced the "H" out of my generator. When i plug something in it goes straight into overload and quits.

You may have knocked something loose inside. Take off the generator end cover and look for anything obvious. There is nothing to loose at this point.

I have a Champion generator 6000 starting watts modle number 41115 starts and runs for a few minutes then shuts down , has fresh gas and new spark plug.

Is the oil level good, does the low-oil cutoff switch work properly? Try bypassing the aforementioned switch to see if it fixes your woe.

Champion 3500 watt generator shuts down after 1 min. Not low on oil!

You have a carburetor problem. Stuck float or clogged filter. Gas cannot get into the carb as fast as it is used. Letting it sit for a few minutes will allow the bowl to fill.

Lamp light flashing, won't stay on.

You need to count the flashes (if it is just not constant) as that is an error code to service personnel. It could be anything from a lamp ready to burn out or thermal overload, or something else. The flashing code is important for service. Docs are available on the internet for this service data.
