I have a samsung tablet and there is an option in settings to factory reset. You will probably lose pictures and contacts if you cant back-up.

I am not familiar with your brand of tablet, but my Proscan 10" one has a reset button on the back. If you can find it listed in the owners manual or somewhere on the tablet, I would try that next.

How do i reset my tablet back to factory setting currently lock out do to a google account

This is how Nick Liberatore of Loyola University describes it (it worked for me):
  1. Power off the tablet.
  2. Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down (while still pressing Power).
You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
  3. Press Volume Down twice to designate Recovery mode.
  4. Press Power to restart into Recovery mode. You will see an image of an Android robot with a red triangle.
  5. Hold down Power. While holding down Power, press Volume Up.
  6. A menu in little blue type should pop up. Use the volume keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press Power to select it.
  7. Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press Power to select it.
  8. When it says all data has been removed then choose to reboot the system.
  9. If you then see the welcome screen you'll know you succeeded!

I put a password on my android tablet and now i dont remember the password

Make sure you backup your files by connecting it to a PC (if you have access to one) via USB cable, you will have to do a hard reset, otherwise there is no other way to get past the lockscreen (unless you have a recovery option with your email address)

Below is the process to tell you how you can hard reset your Samsung tablet (should work with any tablet):

  • Ensure that the Samsung tablet is powered off.
  • Press the Power and the Volume Up button together till the device displays the start-up logo.
  • Once the logo is displayed, release the buttons and wait till the device enters the Android system recovery mode.
  • On the displayed screen, use Volume Down button to go to the wipe data/factory reset option (Volume Up and Volume Down buttons are used to highlight the displayed options on the Android system recovery screen).
  • Once the option is highlighted, press the Power button to select the option. (Pressing the Powerbutton in Android system recovery mode selects the highlighted option.)
  • On the next screen, press the Volume Down button multiple times till the Yes -- delete all user data option is highlighted.
  • Press the Power button to hard reset the Samsung tablet device while clearing the dalvik cache along with the process.
  • Once your device is hard reset and rebooted successfully, you will see that the unlock pattern obstruction is also gone, and you can now set a new unlock pattern on your Samsung tablet.

Opening vtab1008 tablet

  1. Before starting, make sure that the tablet is powered off. Not just in sleep mode. Now press & hold both the UP and DOWN volume buttons at the same time. You may find it easier to hold the tablet in the landscape position on a table or on your lap while you hold down both buttons.
  2. Next press and hold the power button until the tablet buttons light up. It will take a minute to happen, but when they do immediately let go of the power button ONLY. Keep holding down both the UP and DOWN volume buttons. You only have a second to do this other wise the tablet will continue boot up as normal and you will have to start again from step one.
  3. After a bit of holding down both volume keys the screen will show the Vizio logo. Then the logo will change to a TRIANGLE with an exclamation mark.
  4. Now you can let go of the volume buttons.
  5. Tap the home button to pop up the boot recovery menu. Follow the instructions to reset your tablet. Pressing the up/down volume buttons allow you to scroll up and down the list. A quick press on the power button will accept your selection.
  6. Wait for the tablet to come up.
