SOURCE: Need Mac G4 laptop schematic manuel

Not sure if you want an actual circuitry schematic, or a internal parts guide.

A manual for field-replacing just about every component inside your Powerbook can be found here.

I expect that circuitry schematics are much harder to come by, and are actually likely to be protected by trade secrets.

It sounds like the system is corrupted. What I would do is to get your instal disk and boot up holding down the c key on your keyboard. Once you have booted up go to the file menu and run disk utility to verify and repair the hard drive if necessary. Then go to the instal menu and instal a fresh system remembering to preserve the users data so you do not wipe anything. Hopefully this will work.

This computer sounds like it has died. You can try to see if Apple will fix it for you, but I doubt that they will. It may be time to buy a new computer.

I have a powerbook 17"

both the keyboard and the logic board are pretty sturdy, i would assume that the ribbon cable between the two is what has failed. However, if you want to do it yourself, the part is available on ebay. Here's an Macbook Repair guide. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to pay to have somebody do it for you there is a third party Macbook Repair Service.

As you have not mentioned any model of Apple Laptop.Assuming Mac Book Pro 15 " as viewed in the picture.Connect the laptop with external display using DVI to VGA converter and power on the laptop. If the display appears in external monitor, that means the issue is with LCD Panel or may be the LVDS cable is faulty. If stil there is no display in external monitor then the issue is with Logic board. Also check weather the startup chime is appearing or not.If the startup chime is not there, replace the ram with a good one and check. If the issue is with logic board , display or Ram then you have to replace the pirticular par.
