Black goes to the bronze screw. White goes to the silver screw.
Ground goes to the green screw.
Tighten every screw on the outlet. Even the ones with no wires. They use a jumper to connect the unused screws. Especially true if you did the plug-in connection.

hi, the lights in the laptop doesn't turn on either? If so, the problem must be electrical. Check your battery and the power outlet.

Phillips dvr won't power up. Lost power at house

Try hooking it up to another (working) electrical outlet. If that doesn't work, there's several possible problems.

The most likely is that the box was fried when a larger-than-usual current traveled down the line (or even down the coax if lightning struck and your system isn't adequately grounded); the electrical outlet is either pushing too much or too little power; or your house's ground polarity is reversed.

More than likely your box is bad. If you don't know very much about electrical systems, don't go messing with your ground or any outlets without a wall plate.

Just hooked up outlet. Dryer tumbles, wont heat. Have I wired the outlet wrong?

Hi, Did you put red and black wire to the outer posts? White wire ti center and green to ground screw on cabinet? Dry will run on 120V but needs 240V for heat. Make sure there is 240V to the outlet as well.
Hope this helps. If so, please feel free to rate my answer so that I know how I am doing.
