Question about Televison & Video
Changed powere supply but its the same.
I suggest do a factory reset - with tv off, point control at tv press in order mute/1/8/2/power when screen comes on, go to RESET, press enter and set will turn off. When you turn it on it should come up just like first out of the box.

Testimonial: "I have tried the above and that didn't work either. I know the power supply is fine. I know the TV is recieving from the remote. Press power on the remote and after five flashes the red light just stays on. What could it be? Many thanks. George."

When the lamp fails in this unit, often the thermal fuse opens. The error code is 6 blinks. To replace this part requires a great deal of deal of disassembly.

A 5 blink error indicates a bad lamp driver. However a lamp may possibly cause this too. I suggest putting a new lamp in if you have one just to verify the lamp is not the problem. If it still fails with a new lamp then the lamp driver is the problem. This part should be replaced by a Sony authorized servicer. The lamp can be replaced easily by you. The lamp replacement instructions are in the TV's owners manual. Good Luck

re: sony flat panel lcd tv mod. # klv s 40a10.
No power. When power button is pressed, nothing happens.
The stand-by at the power supply ( cn6201) measures to be 3.47 v. instead of 5 v. However, when I unplug cn6201 (5 pin connector) I can read 5v. at the power supply.
