You might try to reset the television - possibly by - with the television ON, hold down the EXIT button on the remote until you are prompted to reset (15 seconds or so). Toggle to YES and then click ENTER. That will bring it back to the last factory mode installed.

The Bravia menu comes up across my screen. It will go off when I hit any button on the remote; then come back on. the model # is KDL-32EX301. How do I get it to go away?

It's caused by the Bravia Sync feature. It doesn't always connect correctly. When there are issues then attempts to sync up cause the menu to appear.

The solution is to switch off Bravia Sync.

Go in to the TV's set-up menu, and choose HDMI Set-up.
Scroll down the menu list and choose Control for HDMI, then set the menu option to OFF

Let us know if that fixes the problem for you.

How do you unhide the HDMI input

Assuming you hid the HDMI input in the setting menu? Go back to the setting menu and look for either inputs, or input labels. Once there, you should see a list of all the inputs and be able to choose them and then name them too!

No sound

The Philips DVP5982 has an odd menu setup for the HDMI sound.
If you get sound from the analog outputs from the unit, but no sound when you use the HDMI output, use this procedure to see if you can restore it:

On the remote control, press Setup.
- Right cursor to the Audio Setup Page
- Go down to Digital Audio Setup
-Right cursor, to get to the screen that shows

Digital Output
LPCM Output
HDMI Audio Setup

Try to go up to the Digital Output setting- if you can't , and instead it shows only HDMI Audio Setup with the "On" highlighted in blue, this is the quirk:

Go into the HDMI Audio Setup, and select "Off", and press Enter, so it's highlighted in blue.

Now it should let you go into the Digital Output menu selection, where you may find it to be on the "Off" setting.

Select "All", and then you can go back to the HDMI Audio Setup and set it to On again, and it should now output sound from the HDMI again.

For some reason, they decided to lock out the Digital Output settings menu when the HDMI Audio is On- go figure.

So you need to turn off the HDMI sound before you turn the sound on.. ;)
