You'll need to check all the connectors that you unplugged, make sure they are plugged in to the correct place, plugged in well and no pins bent over etc, Probably should also check any connectors that you did not have to unplug just to make sure they didn't get pulled while you were getting to the color wheel.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-5041 50 Inch Rear Prorjection TV No image but there is sound!

After 11 years???? OMG This set is a tired pup and should be put to reast. My experience with older sets and your complains are all capacitor problems and is only gonna get worse as the first time around repair will take several capacitors to repair. This set has no user serviceable parts inside so you should not attempt a repair suchj as this on your own.. This repair if you decide to go through the first time will be About 300 to 600 bucks the first time and cost will continue to raise till the sets put to sleep. Good luck

SOURCE: HD 1080 Series (WD-55809) - Color convergence issue

I don't know of illustrated instructions but I can provide you with the service manual for your TV. It does have illustrations of disassembly and components as well as schematics. Your set very likely needs new convergence IC chips. This is a common problem with all projection TVs. The repair is not expensive ($60-75 in parts)  but does involve unsoldering and removing the old chips and soldering in new ones. Some times there are some fuses that need to be replaced as well. If you want the manual provide me with an email address.

SOURCE: have picture in black & white no color. audio

Hi,it definetely sounds like the color wheel. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises.Found your color wheel here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/MITSUBISHI-00-L3603-002-p/1162430.htm Have a bless one!

Hi, I bought a second hand HP VP6315 for an xbox 360. It works perfectly for 15 minutes and then turns from a colour picture to black and white. It has approx 1700 hours left on the bulb and is connected...

DLP projectors use a color wheel to add the color information to a black and white image. If the wheel doesn't work correctly, you get wrong colors or no color at all. I've never worked on one of these, so I don't know if the color wheel is a separately-replaceable part or is part of the lamp module. I haven't been able to locate a service manual or full parts list to check further, but I'll post a follow-up if I find more information.

The usual problem is that the color wheel motor goes bad and it stops spinning, but there could be other electronic problems as well. It could be simply a matter of bad connections that act up after the unit's been running for a while (thermal trouble). You can try researching this model further on the Web to see if anyone can provide detailed parts info, or see if a service shop in your area works on these. And as I said, if I turn up any more information I'll add it.

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

Yes,the problem is the colors wheel it dead. That one of the cause by the colors wheel, other are alots of squiling noises and making very loud buzzing sound. The cooling fan that u think is overheating, does it stop sometimes, when the tv is still on?Yes,than replaced it also,no than it still ok.Just hire the tv repairman, the parts he'll take care of it,don't order the parts,u might get the wrong parts or different sizes, that will not fit in ur tv.

Magnavox 50" DLP Tv power light comes on but then i hear a buzzing noise and then two red lights come on the tv. at no point does the picture turn on during this time. Can you please give me a possible...

Your bulb is burned out. I have had the same problem. It seems this television has an overheating problem--and short bulb life. I have had our 50 Magnavox dlp for two years and just put in the second bulb before Christmas. You can buy the bulb from a dealer on ebay for $99 and install it yourself. I is not in the housing so you have to carefully take out 4 screws and replace the bulb without touching the face of the bulb. To buy the one from Magnavox with the housing is much more expensive. I think the first time my husband replaced the bulb it took about 45 minutes--this time it took about 20.

Projects in black and white

It's probably the color-wheel problem. Maybe the color-wheel stucked because of dust and/or color-wheel sensor is covered with dust.

The simple way to check this, without reinstalling drivers or so, you just tap menu button on remote. If you will see only black-white user interface it is definitly color-wheel.

Good luck.
