Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

What's wrong with my play station? It won't let me play any of my games because it starts to load trophies, stops around 20% and says error and tells me to "please exit" the game. Help!

If you are concerned with saving the games you have played you may need to do a soft boot. That is holding down one two or three buttons and force the machine to reload. If you just want to start playing again I would look for a reset button on the back or bottom of the game console. Take out your disk first then unplug every thing then hold the button in for a minute. Then plug every thing back in and keep your fingers crossed if you are lucky the games did not wash out. you might also look to see if you can delete some of the data stored on the HD. If you have too full of a hard drive you could have problems with it.

SOURCE: showing error code 8001050f. will not allow one

Hi,

You will be glad to know that this is caused by a widespread issue occurring right across the board at this very moment with the PSN Network. It is not a problem specific to your console alone.

Some consoles are not synchronising properly due to an internal clock error and causing problems exactly like you describe. The issue occurs only with games that have trophies.

It is expected that Sony will soon have this resolved - within 24 hours they are saying maximum..

For a full breakdown please look at this FixYa Tip.

If the solution helps, please leave a vote for it. Thanks.

Hi i get an error code of 8001050f when i go to play my video games can you tell me how to fix it so i can play my games

go to the play stations web site to find out what the code means.

if your ps3 has a message of trophy registration error sony will say you need to turn in your ps3 for service this is not true i fixed mine by saving my game data on a thumbstick then deleted the game save data shut off my ps3 then turned the main power (the switch in the back) off for a few minutes to allow the power to dissipate. Then i restarted the ps3 copied my game save data back and my COD modern warfare 2 played like a champ!
i did lose all of my trophies but the game saved data allowed for 12 percent of them to come back apon completing one special op mission.

Play station network is not working.

There is a bug in the Playstation system right now. If you notice your date stamp may say a weird date such as 2000 or 1999. Trophies will not load and the network will not connect not allowing you to play DLC or trophy enabled games. A statement from Sony suggests not to turn on your ps3 at this time-
"We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system."

"
We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data."

If you see an error #8001020F you have run up against the current global issue with the Playstation Network. Most PS3 games will check the trophy status online before they load whether you are actually playing online or not. Sony is aware of the issue and is working on it. They have not released an ETA at this time. The only thing you can do is to keep on trying the games.

Here’s what’s going on right now: something with the PS3’s internal clock has borked in some pre-slim models. This is not a PSN issue; it has to do with your PS3’s clock. This clock is NOT related to the OS clock. It seems to be a leap year bug. Setting your clock ahead will do nothing. All PS3s around the world were affected at the exact same time.
Does this affect me?
-If you have a Slim PS3, you’re good to go. Continue playing it as normal.
-If you have a “fat” PS3, you may be affected. Some fat PS3s have worked ok, but it seems a good majority have been bugged.
What does this bug mean?
-If affected, your date and time has been set to a random past date. This prevents you from signing into PSN, playing any PSN games, or using any DLC. Your trophies will also not display correctly or be able to sync.
How do I fix it?
-You can’t. Even if you don’t sign into PSN, it won’t help. This is a hardware issue.
So, what do I do?
-Wait 24 hours. Other products that have had similar bugs have corrected themselves after the “bugged” day. On Monday around 6pm central time, all PS3s will automatically correct themselves…maybe.
-If that doesn’t work, we’ll need a firmware update from Sony, which should be a pretty important priority for them right now.
Did I lose my data/themes/etc?
Your save data/games/dlc/themes are fine. They’ll be fixed when the PS3 is fixed. Trophies are uncertain right now, but they’ll be fine if you’ve synced them before the PS3 was bugged. Unsynced trophies are an unknown right now.
If I have a bugged PS3, can I still use it?
It’s probably not a good idea, as I have no idea what will happen to the trophies you earn during the bugged time. Movies/media will work fine.
