All washing machines have a switch that is activated when the lid or door is closed. This tells the machine its safe to run the motor. If this thing dropped out of a van, it's possible the housing twisted and the little metal bracket on the door is not making contact with the safety switch or the switch may now be broken.

Ok,,, have you ever started the machine before and it fills with water and your soap while you're loading it with clothing? Yes, I'm sure,,, the motor will never start until the door is closed properly. It will not agitate the clothing until the door is closed. Again,, it goes back to what i stated before,,, a warped machine housing, broken switch, or the switch and "key" not lining up properly now. If its a front loader then this may be tested on "fluff or something like that. Use a screwdriver or something flat and a few inches long to enter the opening where the door "key" goes into to see if it works. Just do it safely of course. The motor is not supposed to turn on fer a very good reason!

door switch comes to mind, how far was the drop ? does the lights or motor buzz ? did the power cord get pulled on ? check with a volt meter at were the power cord attaches to the unit. GOOD ? = then check every last plug in the unit, to make sure it is seated properly into it' respective socket.
Hope this gets ya running again. ask if you need more help, and don't forget to vote if i was of help

Hoover 1400 AAA washing machine tripping house fuse

Possible that the control panel is short and so is tripping the fuse. Remove the connection to the panel and check if there is short , also remove the motor and check and this can confirm the case.

Not working at all. my washer was on working and i heard a big bang and my electrics went off, i turned everything back on and the washer started up again but then stopped and now will not work. when...

Hello,

The ticking that you hear is probably the timing motor for the dial.

Was the "bang" from outside the house? If so, then a transformer probably blew and hit your house with a power surge. Motor is likely damaged, and will need replacement.

If the bang was inside the house, the capacitor on the motor probably blew (unusual failure mode though), and will need to be replaced, motor is likely damaged as well.

I have a Hoover top load 610 and it wont start wash cycle

These are a great little machine,I dont know why they have to go changing things.Anyway this sounds to me like the timer. It fills & the water cuts off so the inlet valve is ok.It drains so the pump is ok.It spins so the motor should be ok.Try it on other cycles like gentle or delicate & see if it agitates.I'm sure it will be the Timer.

How to use hoover ac121

normally the numbers are the same for all uk machines, if the previous washer you used had numbers on it, just remember them and use them as you would, so if a number 2 was a 90 degree boil wash them it would be the same number for all uk machines, that is my experience, or older machines had letters example letter D = non fast coloureds
