If you want to restore to factory image call Dell, they will walk you through that. If you want to remove specific programs they installed go to start> control panel > "add/remove programs" or "programs and features" and remover the ones you don't want. It would be wise to not remove any windows programs.

I would talk to them then, if they sold it to you they should remove all their junk at time of sale. You could try going to start and typing msconfig in the search box check the services and startup tabs and uncheck their software if you see it. Then reboot and see if you can do what you want.

Not able to burn dvd

Hello,
Some dvds have different dyes and as such some dvd rws wont recognise them, i had this problem with my new laptop and I only discovered it when i tried to burn back up discs. generally dvdr- are more suited for burning from your computer, you could try using differnt blank dvds AONE and RI-DISC are good discs, if you are unsure ask at your local pc shop ,if your in Glasgow Priceless computing offer good advice and carry a large selection of dvds, I would avoid the pound shop as the quality of their dvds is poor, should the problem persist take the dvdrw back to the shop where you bought it from, I hope that you are lucky.
Have you tried using MAGIC DVD RIPPER ? this is a program that allows you to copy dvds to your hard drive in dvd quality and you can then burn them to disc using nero, you get a free trial of this program from magicdvdripper, its good if you rent a dvd and want to keep a copy, anyway please let me know how you get on.

Best wishes.

I leased a computer from Gateway in 2004 and the lease is up. How do I found out about returning the machine OR buying it outright? I have phoned at least 15 times to find out. No one can hook me up...

Try going through the support section of Gateways website. If you can get someone through that they should be able to tell you the procedure for lease termination.

After four years on lease I think you probably MORE than paid for the system already. If you still can't get ahold of anyone through support, I'm sure once lease payments stop coming in, they'll contact YOU. At that time you can find out the information you seek.

Hope this helps

I want make my PS3 play any region dvd

The only way to currently do this is to remove the region coding. You can do this by installing a program called cloneDVD4, it will make a 1:1 copy of your dvd while removing any regional settings. This is not illegal as long as you have purchased the DVD and are not renting/borrowing. Be sure to burn the copy of your DVD to a DVD-R and NOT DVD+R.
