Help! My not so electronically inclined husband has a Sanyo stereo system (came with the marriage, the manual did not)..we just bought a HD Vizio, I want to hook it up to the Sanyo, but no manual and he...

I personally do not follow the route-everything-through-the-receiver model. Sound - ABSOLUTELY; Video? Nah.

Is the Sanyo a SOURCE of sound? More likely it's just the light show at the end of the Cable Box, which IS a source of high-end audio. Treat it as any digital source like a CD player for audio.

The Sanyo NEEDS a basic video output to the TV so you can use the Sanyo's menus. The Vizio NEEDS basic audio from the Cable Box (for watching news and other lo-fi content); and the absolute BEST video from everything.

As far as manuals for the Sanyo go, a model number would help.

Maybe run it by the manufacturer's support site or these guys...

I want to play normal tv sound thru the surround sound, but do not know what cables to use? i have an LG 460 tv, and a sanyo dc-ht818, it doesnt seem to have TOSLINK or HDMI inputs, so what can i use?

The Sanyo has stereo analog LINE INPUT jacks. Run two RCA audio cables from the TV to these jacks and select this LINE INPUT FUNCTION on the Sanyo. If the TV has no analog audio output jacks you can even use the headphone output by using a 3.5mm adapter to RCA audio connectors.

My friend gave me a Sanyo TV Model DS25730 and I need to replace the fixture where cable connect.

If the tv has audio and video inputs why not use these instead of the coax input.That is,as long as you have an external tunerwith audio and video outputs.

Loud buzzing sound on Sanyo AVM 1909

I had a problem like that so I disabled the tv's onboard tuner (input source)and now we use the cablebox's video and audio out to the video and video in jacks on the TV this will work as long as you have a cable box or sat reciever for your video and audio source and of course your TV must have video and audio inputs so it will work.

Good luck Rich

No audio when using VCR/DVD player

the first thing that you need to do is use the video cables and audio cables that are on the back of the unit. This makes sure that you have sound and video.

Sanyo TV

Hi,

If I understand your posting/description right, you have:
1, a Sanyo TV with only 1 video input;
2. you have a DVD player with only video output; and
3. you have a VCR (which I will assume to be with both video input and output).

Your query, if I may clarify, is how to hook them up so that you need not connect/disconnect any video cable when you want to switch video source from either DVD or VCR.

If that is what you want, then connect:
a. audio/video OUT of your DVD to audio/video IN of the VCR;
b. audio/video OUT of your VCR to audio/video IN of the TV.

The above described connection would allow you to:
i. watch DVD movies on your TV (your VCR must be powered ON and set to Video INput, your TV must be powered ON & set to Video INput);
ii. watch tape movies from your VCR without disconnecting/connecting cables.

Additionally, this arrangement would allow you to record DVD movies in your VCR. Further, connecting your cable/aerial to the RF INput of your VCR would allow you to do the same with a TV/Cable program.

Incidentally, if one of your units (TV, VCR, DVD) would only have a single audio input, it is still possible since some models uses the white audio RCA connector as either left or mono, the red is right. You can also use a 2 female RCA to 1 RCA male adapter as shown below to joint the red/white audio.

Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned out or should you require additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
