First the question; although, being a good one is going too generalized. So here is generalized answer.

Most carburetor require a complete breakdown and very good cleaning be it either ultrasonic or chemical. Then as the carburetor is re-assemble worn parts are replaced.

In order to obtain a carburetor repair kit you must use the make and model number along any other required number depending on the manufacture to look-up the correct parts. Example: Briggs engine require model - type along with the date code as sometimes at different times during the manufacturing of the engine they may changed parts used.

Some whole equipment manufactures are now referring engines and transmission part look-ups their specific manufacture.

I need help putting my 1990 honda elite carburetor back together

Buy a rebuild kit for it- has all the gaskets, rubber or composite-made parts, and a few most-wear-prone pieces. But always included with the kit is a sheet of paper showing a blown-up or "exploded" view of the carburetor, and every part is numbered. Starting at 1 and going to often about 100. Or 80 maybe for a small carburetor. But the key is to dismantle it in order from 1 to the end. And to put it back together in just the reverse order.
That's what you have to do. The only way to get it all back together, and the right jets in their proper place, and not spend time putting something on and then having to take it back off because something else went in or on first, you want it to work right after all the frustration and time you spent on it. You won't know until it is bolted back on and the engine started and you have test driven won't know if you did it right until that moment. So get that sheet of paper. Most all carburetors show the last part is the throttle valve body assembly-the base of the carburetor. The obvious place to start. Follow the order back, by the numbers, at one you are done. A rebuilt carburetor!

1987 dodge ramcharger is leaking fuel from carburetor, is there a kit to fix the carburetor?

Yes, check at local auto parts store, but they may have to order it, seeing how everything is pretty well fuel injected now. Look for a tag attached, or at least some numbers, make of carb, such as holley or carter, 2 barrel or 4 barrel etc that they can use for reference.

Have to prime carburetor to start truck.

It is a good idea to replace the kit, and it is a matter of stripping the carb and taking note what you removed where and replacing with a new part. You should also check the spark plugs and timing. If the timing is out, the engine will also have difficulty starting.

I have a Ryobi string trimmer that will start quickly, but will not keep running unless the choke is ~ 3/4's closed. I've already rebuilt the carburetor, but that didn't help.

Have you ordered a gasket kit for it? If you have already rebuilt the carburetor and still having this problem most likely means you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Take the carburetor off and look at the intake manifold, there is a gasket on both sides. A gasket kit will allow you to replace both of those gaskets which should fix your problem...hope this helps.

Does'seem to be getting gas, fuel lines are clear and will start using ether .Ran for a awhile when I first got it.Spark is good.Carb does not appear to be pulling gas from the tank.Full choke does not...

Well since you didn't list the make, model or engine size the only thing I can come up with is get a kit to rebuild the carburetor or order a new carburetor and gasket kit.

My husqvarna 359 chainsaw blows fuel out the exhaust when I try to start it. Just rebuilt the carburetor with a kit. Still same problem.

You need a carburetor kit. The needle valve in the car. is stuck open. The needle valve helps to control the flow of fuel.
