SA-AK330 CD stereo system: how do i connect speakers to receiver?

I moved and trying to re-setup my system. I'm not sure now how many wires there should be, or if I lost on. Is there a diagram somewhere on the web showing what wires go where, showing me how to set up? thanks.

There should be four colored wires let out from each speaker. connect the wires to the color coded posts , left and right as marked. the small loop antenna is for am and the t-type antenna is for fm. the manual for this unit is also available on the web. key in your model into the keyword window. good listening to you.

I want to connect a cheap speaker to the cd player but not sure how

Go to your local Radio Shack. They have all the adapter cables you would need. It depends on the speaker what cable you buy. PC speakers use a 3.5mm male connector in which case you would buy nothing. Just plug into the CD player's earphone out jack. Other speakers may use wires so you would buy the appropriate adapter cable from Radio Shack or other electronics store. It can be done.

If your stereo is showing the protect display, it is an indication of a power shorting. This protection is to avoid serious circuit burnout and could be in the power output stages of the set. You will need to open and check for short in the output drives, the preoutput stages, the speakers or even the protection circuit amp.
It is important to address and check these sections with a votage check, elimination process too confirm the part. this may be a little tough and diffcult unles it shows easily on a continuity test. Helpful. Good day

Humming sylvania digital CD/radio player

Try running the stereo on batteries or an external AC adapter. I suspect there is a bad filter capacitor in the stereo's built-in power supply, causing the power-line hum when you use it plugged in. This is a common failure.

There's usually only one or two capacitors (cylinder-shaped parts, found near the connections where the AC power comes in) used. Radio Shack and other electronic parts places would have suitable replacements. Capacitors are measured in microfarads, abbreviated uf or mfd on the part, and they also have a voltage rating. The value isn't critical as long as you don't go below what's marked. In fact, it's usually best to get a replacement with the next higher voltage rating. Under-rating the part to keep cost down is why they fail in the first place. These parts have polarity markings, so be sure you get the + and - leads right.

This is a simple repair for someone with some experience replacing parts and doing electronic soldering. A service shop could certainly do it, but it might cost almost as much as a replacement stereo. This might be a good time to find out which of your friends likes to tinker.

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

I have a nextplay cd boombox which is brand new and skips

The vibrations from the speakers are causing the cabinet to resonate. This resonation causes the lens to vibrate, distorting the pickup signal... I would recommend giving it a few hard slaps when it skips. if that does not work, then try to adjust the soud so that there is no bass at all if you can.... Else chuck it...

Try a laser eye cleaner. It possibly may need to be dusted on the inside. Overheating can cause strange things to happen to electronics.

Durabrand Model Hm3817DT

Make sure the cd is snapped into place, and the speakers are plugged in to the correct jacks (right speaker, left speaker specific). Turn the unit on and press the function button (far left) until you see "CD" - the other functions are "RADIO" and "AUX" - you should be able to adjust volume, track numbers, etc. If that doesn't work, you might have a lemon --- 90 day warranty, so be sure to get it back!
