Turn the router off.
Straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip,
and insert it into the small hole in the back of the router,
to "reset" the router to the "factory" settings.

Turn the router on, connect to its built-in web-interface,
and the "default" ID/password should now work.

Change the password.

Rerun the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard",
to recreate your wireless network.

If you forgot the password or need to change it, you have to reset the router to go back to its default setting. Locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. While router is power on, use a paperclip to hold the button down for 10 sec. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process. Wait for about 30 sec to access the router. On your web address bar type 192.168.0.1 to access the router. When logging in the user name is admin and leave the password49b15eb.jpg box empty

Hello,

Thank you for using Fixya!

Here are the steps on how to get you SSID and the wireelss encyption.

Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape or Mozilla firefox. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.0.1.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is password. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.

Once on the router's setup page go to the Wireless settings. Here you can find the SSID. Enable the wireelss encryption or wireelss security to get your WEP key or WPA key. A WEP key consist of numbers 0-9 and a WPA key consit of letters from A-z and numbers 0-9. Dont forgot to apply or save the settings before closing the page.

Hope this helps

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dlink Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals.

The IP address to put in your browser to get into the router is: 192.168.0.1

The default userid is: admin

There is not default password, so leave it blank.

How do i setup my wireless linksys model wcg200?

The wireless settings that you need to take note of are:
a. SSID - this is the name of your wireless network
b. SSID Broadcast - an indication if your SSID is showing on the list of networks available
c. Wireless Security - serves as the password for your wireless network

To check the wireless settings on the Linksys router, follow the steps below.
Checking the Wireless Settings on the Linksys Router
Step 1:
Access the router's web-based setup page. For instructions, click here. If you are using a Mac computer to access the web-based setup page, click here.
Step 2:
When the router's web-based setup page appears, click Wireless.
4678-009.png Step 3:
Look for Wireless Network Name (SSID). If it's still set to "linksys", change it to something unique then click 6-4680.jpg NOTE: Take note if SSID Broadcast is Enabled or Disabled. If it is Enabled, it means your SSID will show among the list of wireless networks available when any wireless device will search for a network to connect to. If it is Disabled, it will not be visible.

4678-003.png
Step 4:
Click the Wireless Security subtab and take note of the current Security Mode.
4678-001.png
If Security Mode is set to WEP:
4678-007.png If Security Mode is set to WPA:
4678-013.png You can change your WPA shared key if you want to personalize it. It should be a minimum of eight and a maximum of 63 characters long.

You stated "The SSID is not being broadcasted either." Turn on your SSID broadcast so your computer can see the network and reconnect back to it.

How to install a password in a DWL-2100AP

The usual setup IP address for DLink wireless routers is
192.168.0.1
and the user login = admin and no password is required.
If you have not changed the password and the default SSID then it is recommended that you set a password and change the SSID so that it will help prevent someone hacking into your DLink wireles router and changing your setings to their advantage..

Ssid network

The SSID setting is part of the DLink wireless setting.
To configure the DLInk wireless/router from new, you may need to connect the DLink wireless/router the laptop with a 10baseT cable, then open your browser and enter the URL address http:/192.168.0.1 The default login = admin, no password required. Unless you have previously altered the default settings.
You should configure the DLink wireless with a different SSID from the default one and set it up with encryption preferrably WAP.
You should also setup a password for the admin login, so to prevent someone from hacking into your wireless/router to change your settings and steal your Internet access.
You would need to setup the wireless card in the laptop to have the same wireless/router settings eg. SSID and encryption.
You can now remove the LAN cable and connect to the Internet by wireless.
All this information is in your manual.
