Usa seller 3 RCA to USB AUX ADAPTER AUDIO VIDEO AV CONVERTER CABLE CORD...

This type of cord is the simple answer - you would need to us Microsoft Movie Maker (if on Windows type system, there are plenty of programs under Linux, and a similar program for Mac). Basically, play via the camcorder, use program to 'capture' the movie, and then edit as needed, save to file type that you prefer.

I have an Intel CS430 that has an RCA video in jack on the back. While the camera itself works just fine, when I plug a video sources (such as the playback of my camcorder) into the RCA jack, the video is...

yooperbud, you misunderstand. The Intel Pro PC camera model described actual has an RCA jack labeled "Video In" that is indeed supposed to be able to capture video from an analog source like a VCR or a camcorder. (Its an old device; it came out before digital output was standard in consumer-level camcorders.) When an input is pluged into the yellow RCA jack, the device is supposed to automatically switch from sending video from it's own camera to converting an analog signal coming from an RCA cable to a digital stream over the USB cable.

Someone else on this site reported that this function worked properly in XP prior to SP3, but I can't confirm that yet.

Mode for playback of older 8mm tapes using Sony DCR-TRV730 ?

In 1990s Sony camcorder records movie in analog format so playing in digital camcorder like DCR-TRV730 doesn't mean it will be converted in digital format and you can not import file in PC for editing purpose. You will get analog signal while playing back old cassettes.

Regarding SP, LP speed, its decided at time of recording. Camera sens SP or LP automatically in playback and set itself accordingly.

If you want to convert old cassettes into digital format, connect our camcorder to DVD recorder and burn DVD which is digital format, copy DVD files in to PC and do desired editing.

Sony Handycam CCD-TRV21 8mm Analog

Hi, Based on your post/description, you would need a video capture device installed to your PC. This maybe an internal PCI card or the newer external versions via USB or FireWire such as Pinnacle, Leadtek . Most brands/models will allow you to hook the camera using RCA (yellow) connector and/or S-video (black with multiple pins). You have to use the Line-in (blue) of your PC as the audio input. In some old cameras, the audio may be mono RCA, you would need an RCA combiner (2 female to 1 male) and connect it to a stereo baby phone to RCA cable. These products come with an installer CD for the drivers and a video capture software similar to Windows MovieMaker. Hope this be of some help to you and give you an idea. Post back should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
