SOURCE: The compressor relief valve keeps popping, compressor runs

What pressure is it popping off at? You might have to adjust the pressure switch to a lower setting.

SOURCE: I have a Husky model Y6010 air compressor.

First remove the valve using probably about a 1/2" wrench but make sure there is no pressure in the tank before you do so. check the cone and seal by loosening the valve by hand and check for debris. If there is no debris then the problem is either the pressure relief valve or weak pressure regulator but may also be a bad piston seal if it is a direct drive unit.

Husky 25 gallon compresor reaches 115 psi, not any more and keeps running, does not shut off

If it is not getting to pressure then either your safety valve is leaking or the drain plug on the bottom is open. Do you hear air escaping when it is running?

POP OFF VAVLE ON HEAD KEEPS POPPING UP

The over-pressure relief valve may be defective if the valve is opening before the desired tank pressure is reached. If not, then the shut-off pressure adjustment (if there is one) may be set wrong. You'll need to find out from the manufacturer exactly what static tank pressure the compressor is designed to provide and then determine if it is working correctly. If so, then the relief valve might be defective. DO NOT attempt to defeat the relief valve under any circumstances - it can result in compressor damage or a dangerous tank failure.

Won't build top pressure an shut off

It sounds like your pressure switch is not set correctly. It is possible it is set too high for the compressor you have.

Compressor reaches 125 psi but does not shut down

Depending on how old your compressor is, usually inside the pressure regulator cover are instructions on how to adjust the turn-on and shut-off pressures. If not, it usually invloves turning a nut or screw to lessen the pressure on the spring that keeps the contacts closed. Try adjusting the pressure down. If it won't come down to a safe level you will be better off replacing the pressure switch. The number you give above is the Campbell-Hausfeld (they are Husky) part number for the pump and motor assembly so I don't know which CH pressure regulator you need. They are easy to find and easy to replace.

Compressor relief valve opens 150lbs on my d55141

That is the compressor's holding capacity 150psi. Therefore, the cut-out pressure has been reached. The safety valve opens to relieve the excessive psi. Compressor should come on at 120 psi.

Compressor 25 psi thats it

I assume it keeps pumping, but doesn't build any more pressure. That is probably bad valves or rings. If your unit has a crankcase breather, and it is puffing alot of air, look for rings. Otherwise valves.

Howdy, I just acquired an air compressor, ''Westinghouse Air Brake Co., Type Y 3YC, SN 136848. I am wondering about parts motor config, cfm output, psi, etc. It appears to be a 2 stage & I'm thinking...

We have a Westinghouse 3YC air compressor. The safety relief valve in the line between the two compressors started "popping off" recently. The compressor seems to be working fine. Is this a problem only with the relief valve or could there be a symptom of a more serious condition that we should be attending to? The valve is stamped 60 max which I assume is 60 psi. Is this the correct size. The tank pressure is set for125 psi. The tank relief valve is marked 250 max.
