How do you start an electrolux floor pro

Hi,
With the shampooer plugged in the receptacle and in an upright position with the handle up, step on the handle release with your left foot at the bottom left of the unit. It will release the handle back and also triggers the "on" switch at the same time. voila!
Hope it helps! amerivac4u@yahoo.com

Replace the mini emtor on a generation iv kirby upright

To replace a mini-emptor it should come of with a twisting motion. You may have to snap it if it is broken, and be aware in the exhaust port a piece may be left behind that you will have to remove to get the new mini-emptor to attach. There are 3 rivets that this part holds onto and when it is removed you should see the rubber and the 3 rivets. You can see pictures here: Kirby G4 miniemptor instructions.

Vacuum will not come on even though power switch is on.

Rainbows draw a lot of power. It may have tripped the circuit breaker for the receptacle you have it plugged into. first make sure the receptacle is ok, especially if it is plugged into a ground fault receptacle. . Next, unplug the vacuum, take off the tank and see if you can spin the impeller by hand. If you can spin it, the motor is free. If plugged into a good receptacle and the power cord is not cut or broken and still does not run then the motor is bad. it could be the brushes in the motor(which can be replaced), or the armature is shorted out, meaning you need to replace the motor.

I have a hoover F5914-900 steam vac clean surge how do you us ethe attachment for the hand tool thing?

on the front of the dirty water return tank there should be a removable square plastic piece. Remove the lid and slide that piece out. Replace wth the back end of the hose receptacle. when you return the lid to the top of the return tank, you must roll it on from the front(there are brackets the lid hooks under) to the back and listen or feel or the "click" . Now push the smaller water hose into the receptacle which is located under the hinged door on top of the base. It should be ready to go, now. let me know if this fixesya! Thanks, Rene (the Vacuun Doctor)

Replacing Switch & cord on OLD Eureka upright 403B...

I have ordered and received what seems to be the correct switch and replaced the belt, but cannot figure out how to get to the switch. I also need to shorten or replace the cord because it is severely worn where it bends onto the winding posts. This old vac worked well until recently and is the property of our church and we can't afford to replace it right now.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.

It sounds to me that you have a handle switch / cord and if you shorten the cord you need to also purchase a cord protector. Usually it may be covered by screws or a pop rivet and you would have to drill out the pop rivet and the switch cover will come off and then replace it with new pop rivets or screws and use the cord protector if you shorten the cord nut I would not advise it because the longer the cord the more vacuuming you can do without going from plug to plug. Suggest that you check with you local vac dealer in your area or use some suggestion I will give you listed below.
So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
