How to keep your receiver out of "protect mode."


"Protect mode" as it is indicated by many manufacturers of modern AV receivers, is a useful safety tool but all too common a problem for many people.

There are various causes of this safety feature to be executed, and returning your unit to normal function will also vary by manufacturer by which you will have to refer to it's manual on the procedure. But the following tips to avoid getting into protect mode apply to all manufacturers of all receiver designs and circuit topology

The number one cause of "protect mode" is heat. Receivers that have Solid State amplifier topology produce a lot of heat.
To reduce and dissipate this heat that can cause it to enter protect mode; do one or all of the following:

Remove anything stored on top of the unit. Anything that blocks the vents even temporarily while operating will cause it retain more heat.

Give it room, out in the open. Do not operate it while it is sitting in a cabinet or other enclosure.

Store it farther away from any other source of heat; don't overlook things like reading lamps, etc. It takes only 1 degree higher than the units' internal temperature sensor setting to shut it down.

My TV had the same problem and I have managede to get rid of it. The solution is very simple. This displays mean that your TV is in the " Store Demo" mode and any changes you make will last only for 30 minutes and when the TV is turned off the settings will change back to the normal. Whether you TV is in the "Store Demo" mode can be confirmed by pressing the "Info" button on the remote and you will see that "store demo" appears on the screen. To change this mode to the "home mode" you will have to press the "Volume button" on the TV and when the volume sign appears on the screen then you will have to press the "Menu" button on the TV (not on the remote)and hold it down for about 7to 10 seconds. This changes your TV mode from "store demo" mode to the home mode. Confrim whether the store demo mode has been put off by pressing the "Info" button on the remote to see whether the store demo sign appears on the screen. The store demo is set by sales persons in the shops so that any demonstratation/changes that they make while showing to customers will be temporary as the settings revert back to the original.

Removing Your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode

First, confirm your TV is in Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode:

1. Press the INFO button on your remote control. A list of settings appears.
2. See if the Picture Mode setting is set to Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

There are three methods for removing your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode. If the first method does not work, try the second or third method.
Method 1

To remove your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode, follow these steps:

1. Press the Volume button on the side panel of your TV. If your TV does not have a side panel, press the Volume button on the front panel. The TV displays the volume bar.
2. Press the Menu button on the side panel of your TV for about seven seconds. Again, if your TV does not have a side panel, press the Menu button on the front panel. If Dynamic or Dynamic Mode is displayed on the screen, your TV has been removed from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Note: You may want to press the INFO button on your remote again to confirm you TV is no longer in Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Method 2

1. Press the Volume button on your remote. The TV displays the volume bar.

The brand name Samsung is in the middle of the screen. I wish to remove it and with no manual I do not know what to do. Also there are other messages fliping on and off the screen too.

  1. Change your TV to the "TV" source. The TV source is the coax (RF) source. It does not matter if you do not have anything connected to this source.
  2. Press the MENU button.
  3. Use the ??² or ??¼ button to select the "Setup" portion of the menu, and then press the ENTER button.

    Note: On many TVs the menu sections name is displayed on the left side of the menu and sideways.

  1. The "Plug & Play" option should be highlighted if it is not use the ??² or ??¼ arrow to select "Plug & Play" option, and then press ENTER.
  2. Note: If the "Plug & Play" option is grayed out and can't be selected this means that you are not on the TV (Coax (RF)) source. Please return to step 1.

  1. Follow the on screen instructions. When the options comes up select "Home" instead of "Shop".
  2. Finish going through the plug and play option and your TV will no longer be in Shop Mode or Store Demo.

check the menu there may be some sort of "demo" mode or "Store" mode that the tv is set to. there are some features that are for the stores to use when tvs are being displayed instore. check owners manual

Have you tried removing the actual lens(?) to see if there's something inside the camera house that's not supposed to be there. I'd find it highly unlikely that the, thou who knows. The best thing to do, would be to drop it off at your local camera repair-store.

go to start-control panel-add/remove programs and read on the list, scroll the list and see if you see what name the program is to put it to sleep , if you found it , click on remove and remove it
than restart you pc , try to install the cd from the printer again , if it do the same thing , you might well get anew printer

I think you need to call sony I know online there have been a few people who say they know how but out of the 400+units I have fixed I have never had one of these!

Unable to view images, screen remains blank, every thing else works.


Kindly specify that are you not able to view the live picture while shooting on the camera mode or not able to view the stored pictures, or both.
