Mixer brand and model? Are you recording on a DAW? Give us more info, so we can help you. If you're recording on a DAW, try to uninstall the drivers and install again, that should work...

Why does my mixer take so long to select something from the menu and why does it freeze up?

Sounds like you need more ram or computer space. You didn't list what time of mixer or computer so can only answer basicly. If using a computer (which it sounds like) see how much the mixer needs andhow much space available on your hard drive. This is called a latency problem. Basicaly how long does it take for the computer to respond to commands while it is doing a task. either get a bigger hard drive and more ram or clear out some files on your computer. You can also go into settings and change the settings. You'll have to look through the manual on latency problems.

What are you recording from? If using a condenser mic and you fail to turn on the Phantom power, symptoms such as you describe would occur. You don't include enough information about your setup to allow us to help.

I have a behringer Xenyx 1622 mixer and am using cubase when i plug it in the it says its ready to go but, something happens and theres no volume..and i cant set it up in cubase?...any suggestions..

When you open Cubase you MUST open a new project.

Then select 24 track audio for example... unless yoou are doing MIDI record and playback.

Then open up a mixer panel and select a channel to read or connect to a file.

There are too many options to describe and the "says its ready to go " is not enough information to know where you are.

You may have to imprt files or record music... Don't forget to select a track on the display of tracks.

I own an akai XR20 drum machine. Was using it and the thing froze. The toggle still changes the bpm but nothing else works, and the (a) button is not flashing, though all else is lit. please help!

If you were in Record mode and forgot to press stop it will loop continuously until you do.Try holding Pattern/Song and press Play to see if it will play the demo song. What does the display LCD say? Are you stuck in System Setup mode? Are you stuck in Record Setup mode? If the record button is not flashing you are not in Record mode.Have a look at page 15 in the manual and see if it will go into Pattern mode. I forgot to ask you if you have a manual. If not you can download one here: The reason I asked you about the footswitch is that when you power up the XR20 checks the footswitch jack to see what kind of footswitch you are using. The manual unfortunately doesn't mention what would happen if the jack failed. This can happen sometimes when a cord plugged into a jack gets kicked. The solder joint between the circuit board and the jack fails rendering the jack non functional. I also didn't ask you if you are using batteries or the correct power supply. Try describing to me what the display says. Let me know if any of this helped.
