Question about Samsung LN46C550 TV
When I first plug my T.V in it turns on by itself. the red light blinks about 3 times then you hear the power on chime and then it actually turns on but only stay on a few seconds then blinks a couple times before actually turning off and then starts the cycle over and over again. I've checked all the capacitors there fine. i dont have the original remote but ive managed to program my verizon fios stb remote before it turns off and between the power cycles i can change the input, the other day i plugged it into my computer as a second monitor and started playing with the touch display buttons and some how i finally got it to stay on and it worked perfectly until i turned it off to see if it was fixed and of course it wasnt. it started power cycling again but a message came on the screen saying something about the main board was changed and to get into sevice mode and set the options for type front display.. im at a loss and when i plug it back into my computer it starts to load and fix that message but i cant get it to stay on long enough to finish.. to me it seems to be stuck on some kind of demo or reset mode because when i play with the display buttons the sequence of the flashing lights seems to change and i can get it to stay off without unplugging the power cord. Could it be in some sort of mode or is there a problem internally?
Sounds like main board fault. Contact any service technician. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
