Question about Samsung Computers & Internet

How do I turn off the Samsung sync-master p2050 monitor?

I press the power button the screen turns off then the LCD (touch buttons) blink for about 5 - 10 seconds then monitor turns itself back on...sometimes the screen blinks while the red lights are blinking and then it displays analog/digital top left corner and then after switching between the 2 it settles on analog and shows my desktop. The only way I have been able to get the monitor to shut off completely is by unplugging from outlet. I have tried various methods of troubleshooting. holding finger over menu button for 5 seconds to lock the functions doesn't change anything. unplugging from power, and PC, then turning it on without plugging into PC, doesn't change anything. other than the monitor not being able to turn off by use of the touch button it works fine, occasionally it will shut off for no reason but it just does the same thing blinks on and off then comes back on fully.

If it doesn't turn off by holding the power button down for 10 seconds, then it cannot be turned off by the power button alone, like most modern lcd monitors. Most modern monitors goes into standby mode. To completely cut power, you must unplug the power cable.
I've enclosed a link to the install manual for reference.

No monitor can be turned off by running your finger over the led indicator, unless it's defective from the beginning. And according to the company's manual for the monitor, it doesn't mention that capability. So not sure why you insist that this was a feature of the monitor.

My 510 sync master monitor comes on when i press the power button but goes right back off

Any FIFTEEN-inch screen is very old.
Responsibly recycle it, and buy a new 19 or 21 inch screen.
Your eyes will thank you for having the much-bigger screen.
