Question about Kenmore 22422 Top Load Washer
My Kenmore 70 will not agitate. It is a very old washer. From what I can tell the model is B705701, but then again I probably should have had my glasses on when I read it. I followed some direction to remove the agitator from this , yet my innards do not look the same. I pried the cap off with a screw driver and now I cannot get it back on. Nevertheless, this is what I noticed: The cap sits on a bolt of sorts that will turn right and left with the shaft it rests on, hence agitation. However, it is only the shaft and the cap that moves and not the agitator. But when I remove the bolt and then the agitator I do not see where it should fit into a groove. Can you help by telling me two things: What maybe the problem and how do I get that darn cap back on? thanks a million
If its that old your lucky you got the agitator off! there .should be a spline on top of transmission shaft. the agitator will slide down on it. your problem will probably be the wig-wah located on top of trans.take the back off the washer you will see 2 solenoids this is the part
