Here's a very concise walk-through:

http://blog.jeffcosta.com/2011/09/29/create-a-wireless-n-bridge-with-2-inexpensive-tp-link-routers/

If you follow it, step-by-step, you ought to be fine. I've done a bridge using a Linksys E1500.

The only difference is I chose to use different firmware- which I got from the DD-WRT site. That's another option, if your TP-Link is on their approved list of routers.

SOURCE: how to bridge trendnet wireless

Most retail routers do not come stock with bridging capability. In order to accomplish this you would need to flash the firmware on the router with another like Tomato or DD-WRT. While this WILL give you the bridging capability it will also void your router warranty. However, flashing with an this alternate firmware is usually very beneficial because it will give you complete control of your router's capabilities. If you need help setting up the bridging, or managing any other features of the firmware you can find support forums right on the site that you download the firmware from that will assist you in doing this. Since you are using a TRENDnet router, DD-WRT is probably the best way to go. You will need to search for your router here:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#TRENDnet
and download the appropriate firmware to flash.

Unfortunately, you can't use two routers together in that manner. You must have a device in between them such as a switch or bridge or you'll have to disable the DHCP server settings in the second router. The second router then pretty much becomes a switch you may then use all the ports on the second router with the exception of the WAN port it must remain unoccupied. However, if you need wireless connectivity in another location far away from your main router then your only solution would be to indeed purchase an actual access point/bridge device

Use Netgear WGR614 as an access point

Right, it won't work. The 614 doesn't have the software to make it into a BRIDGE or AP CLIENT. It can only be made into an Access Point, meaning it needs a wired connection INTO it.

A TP-Link http://www.tp-link.com/products/product_spe.asp?id=36 WA501G costs under $40 and gives you the ability to go from wireless to wired. It takes about 15 minutes to set up, and will plug into your DVR's ethernet port to extend your wireless network. It's programmed by setting the mode, AP, CLIENT, BRIDGE, etc. We use them in areas where we want to extend a wireless signal for distances like across parking lots, but it also will work across a room or two.

There are also wired ethernet extenders that use house wiring like the Netgear XE-102, about $80, that look like two wall transformers with ethernet jacks. You plug one into the router/switch and the other into the DVR.

CAT 5E DISTANCE

Considering what you started with, it should be slow :-)

If this were my installation I would run HUGESNET>Router>BRIDGE>BRIDGE>ROUTER/AP>PC

The first router is the 150N. The Bridges are two Wireless Access points in bridge mode designed for distance. A nice unit for this application is a TP-Link WA-601G with antennas (ANT2408) found here:

http://www.tplink.com/products/wlan.asp

It will cost you an extra $100-150 depending on antenna, but it should get you good results, considering the SAT is probably 300 down and 128 up :-)

Using the DI-624 as a bridge

I don't think it can. An inexpensive wireless access point will work as a bridge. I use the TP Link brand with detachable antenna.

http://www.tplink.com/products/product_des.asp?id=116

Using the terms using the dlink router as bridge you get results of people who claim it can't be done because of firmware. The same question on the D-Link help site mentions DL to DL bridges, but not with the 624.

Wireless ethernet from a wired router?

You can buy a wireless access point to plug into your router. The thing is, you can buy a new router with wireless built in for about the same price. It's up to you to shop and compare.

In either case, you will need to configure the wireless, and create a WEP key to share with the wireless in the computer(s). The new wireless will come with instructions.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!
