I have some spots of superglue on a lovely shirt, is there a substance which will remove it?

Probably not without damaging the fabric because these glues are so hard. 2 products I would try if you can get them where you are:
1. tea tree oil
2. Eucalyptus oil.

These will react with normal glues and break them down without harming the fabric or taking out any colour. I have not tried either of them with any of the super glues so I cannot say if it will be successful with such super tough products. I would also test them on another piece of similar fabric spotted with the glue before using them and that will tell you if they will work on the SG.

Other than that you would need to try various strong solvents to see if they would break down the glue and enable you to remove it. The problem is you may end up with a stain, loss of colour or some damage to the fabric if it is a sensitive fabric. If you test some of these on an old piece of similar fabric you have spotted with the glue you will be able to see which one worked without harming the fabric.

If you can buy a bottle of dry cleaning fluid (I cannot remember the technical name) you may be able to move it using a liberal amount of that product or just soaking the areas with the spots in the fluid. Be careful handling it as it is pretty toxic.

Applying steam (from a boiling kettle ) to areas of the fabric affected may soften the glue a little and enable you to roll it off the fabric if it is not heavily impregnated. Whilst this can work with some of the softer glues it may not with the SG. I would also test it first on another piece of fabric

How to Clean Carpet

Tips to Clean Car Rugs

The carpets of the car suffer immense wear. They support our weight with all kinds of shoes, and suffer constant friction by the movement of our feet, in search of comfort. Therefore, we must give an adequate maintenance so that they are always kept in perfect condition.

Cleaning under car mats

Depending on the make and model of your car, underneath the carpets, you will have a closed cubicle of various materials, mostly plush. We must keep them in good condition, as they are the ones that ensure a good fixation to car mats.
At least once a week, remove the rubber mats, folding them towards the center to avoid spreading the dirt. Remove and clean the bottom carpet with a vacuum cleaner, rubbing the brush vigorously. You can do a more thorough cleaning, sprinkling baking soda and let it act at night, to suck in the morning. This cleaning will not only remove pebbles and other dirt that could affect the carpet's rubber mats, it will also reinvigorate the texture of the interior carpet, leaving it more fluffy and fit to secure the rubber, either thanks to its rough texture of the face Inferior, or by strips of velcro that you can adhere with universal glue. Thus, carpets will never slip.

Cleaning the car's rubber carpet

Once the rubber carpet is removed from your car, shake it to remove any dirt. To clean it, nothing is better than simple warm water with detergent for dishes concentrated. This will leave them clean and shiny, well moisturized. After brushing, rinse with hot or warm water and let dry, always hanging in the shade, as the sun and excessive heat can dry and alter them.

After cleaning and drying, check the rubber mat to analyze the damage and bad sectors. This not only responds to an aesthetic question of the car, but a damaged carpet could cut, move, settle behind the pedals preventing its proper operation; This is potentially a great danger for the driver and the rest of the occupants of the car.

If you notice that the rubber mat has damage, you should repair it immediately. With the carpet totally dry and cold, measure a piece of sturdy fabric (can be jean or denim, or other similar fabric) and trim, exceeding the total crack size or damage. Apply two-component glue or contact cement on the fabric, in a thin layer, and do the same around the broken area of your car's rubber mat, for the reverse. Let the glue bake until it has a bite but does not stick to your fingers, and place the clipping cloth, making some pressure.

This technique will be applicable for breaks in the center or in the contours of the carpet, where pieces will not be missing. If there are missing debris, you can replace them with rubber scraps (broken or punctured hot water bags are ideal for these jobs). Finally, you can take advantage of the time to attach velcro straps (the rough part or hooks), to leave the carpet clean, firm and fixed in place.

Headliner on my sunroof has fallen down. It is a 2009 Lincoln MKX. How do I fix it?

You will need to remove the entire headliner, being careful not to crack the foam it is constructed. You will need to remove all the plastic door pillar covers, any clothes hangers, the dome light, etc.
You can purchase headliner fabric and adhesive at most fabric stores. The personnel there will assist you in getting the correct adhesive. You must remove all the old headliner fabric and backing pad material to get to the foam core for installation of the new headliner fabric. Lay out the fabric and cut it to size, allowing for some overlap in case you err slightly when positioning it. You will apply the adhesive to the foam core and to the back of the headliner fabric. It is a contact-type cement. Carefully position the fabric over the foam core and work from the center out to position it, being careful not to trap wrinkles or to stretch the fabric excessively. Trim off the excess and reinstall headliner.

Sagging headliner in 2000 plymouth voyager

If your a D.I.Y'er than you can purchase a can of spray fabric glue and try to get it to stick again. If not, than go buy a new one or salvage yard take out and install it. If you do go with the glue it yourself way, follow the directions to the letter and take your time! *Make sure the backing foam is in good condition. If its like dust or powder that just flakes off, do not re-glue it. It will not stick and fall as soon as you put it in.

Dark stains on some clothes after drying

I had this same problem. I turned out to be the seal around the drum. You have to remove the drum and put in another seal. Not real hard to do. You can order the seal from sears and I think the glue came with it. Just have to remove the lint vent screws and then the top lifts off. then remove the screws to the front panel. Hold the drum because it will fall. Unhook the belt. Remember how it connects. Then take the drum off and remove the seal and as much leftover glue and fabric. Glue the new seal on and let dry. I did overnight. It should have directions. then replace everything. just make the seal is on the same way you took it off so look at everthing before you remove anything. Once the seal was replaced no more stains.

Glue Gun Support

Plug the glue gun into an electrical outlet. Make sure it is placed in a secure place, away from flammable items. As the glue gun heats up, a little bit of glue might drip from the end so you won’t want to leave it on a wood table or on carpet. Insert a glue stick into the back of the glue gun. If the glue gun already has a glue stick in the chamber, keep a second one in reserve nearby. Gather the materials you want to glue together. Hot glue works exceptionally well on thick fabrics, dried flowers, Styrofoam, wood and plastics. Since it leaves a thicker residue, it is not the best choice for thin papers, fabrics and ceramics. Check to see if the glue in the gun has melted by squeezing the trigger slightly and touching the tip to a test piece of paper. If the glue comes out easily, the glue gun has heated up fully. If the trigger is hard to pull, wait a minute more for the gun to heat more completely. Pick up the glue gun and squeeze the trigger slightly while you draw a thin line on one side of the item to be glued. Immediately place the other object to be glued on the glue line, pressing firmly. Hold the two pieces together for about 15 seconds. Test to see if the item still holds when you remove one hand. Let the item set for a few minutes in order to “cure.” Once the glue has dried fully, use a fingernail to scrape away any of the excess glue.

there is an arasol glue for heat applications for the fabric of head liners you can pick this up at local parts stores or the hot glue you can use theres also carpet glue if you know how to iron upside down use the carpet glue and an old iron that your going to want to throw away cause carpet glue is a little messy but it holds tight and liquid nails this you will have to find some way to support the area of the headliners while liquid nails adheres to the head liners

Brothers MFC 210c ink tray needed has pin hole in it ink all over bottom of tray . I need to buy one where do I buy one? Cant find a place to buy one......

So if you found out that there is a pin hole in the foil, you have opened the printer already yet: I wont explain how to open cover to get to the ink tray. Wear 1# aid handshoes!!! Loose the capillaries carefully at the ink tray.(Fingernail under the capillaries; Do NOT strech the caps!!!) Clean the tray under warm water. Let the water run into the pins where normaly the carts let the ink thru. Do that until it looks brand new. Shake tray well to get the water out. Turn around to see the bottom (foil). Use some good glue to fix the pin hole. Wait a few minutes. Do this a second time. While waiting that the glue is dry clean bottom of printer with some papertowels. After glue is dry, use some water to test if the tray is ok. If so carefully stick the capilaries onto it again. Reinsert tray. Watch the white connection cablewires! Fasten cover
