Question about Technics Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a Technics audio receiver, model SA-GX650. The front speakers work correctly, but the back and center speakers do not work correctly, i.e. no volume comes out of them. Would you please let me know if you have any suggestions?

Some receivers have adjustments you can make during set up to direct sound in various ways. There also may be configuration selections you can make using the remote. For example, enabling surround sound or selecting simulated stereo. The instruction manual should explain the various options.

Just perform the factory reset, or return to defaults reset. Youi will find it in your owner's manual. That will get you in the "ballpark" as to your sound system as a whole.

My Technics SA-GX100 Reciever worked for a minute, but when i set it up with all the speakers and attachments, it says "muting". i dont have a remote, so how do i UNMUTE it?

According to my Technics SA-R210 manual to UNMUTE without the remote....do the following......PRESS BOTH THE VOL UP & DOWN CONTROLS & THE LOUDNESS SWITCH ON THE UNIT AT THE SAME TIME......Not sure it will work for your model but that is what it shows for The Technics SA-R210 model, so it should be pretty much the same

No tv sound through reciever's speakers. How do I hook up?

TV is not customarily a sound source. It is a video destination. Get your TV-related audio to the receiver from the same places the TV gets it - each source device's audio outputs.

Sounds like a dirty pot. With the receiver off turn or slide it back from one side to the other. Test it, if its a little better you can clean it with a little (a drop or two) of wd40, You will probably need to remove the cover to get to it.

Max. wattage for speakers w/ Technics Receiver SA-GX100?

I too have a Technics SA-GX100 and it's rated at 2 x 40W @ 8 Ohms. I have the Technics SB-2840 floor model speakers hooked to it, which are rated at 200W Music Input - 8 ohms. It sounds very nice just to be a 40W receiver.

Center speaker is dead or what it can be on my Technics SA-dx930.

More than like, the center channel is turned off on your receiver. Please see page 16 of the manual, which is located here:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SADX930.PDF

The manual says to do this:
Turn on the receiver.
Press Speaker A and B button at the same time.
The word Setting appears then changes to Front
Press A to select Center
Press B to choose Large, Small or None for your center speaker.
After choosing Large or Small, press A again till you see Complete on the screen.

If this helps, please rate my response.

Technics sa-g78 no sound from front speakers

This happens on mine also. My theory is a relay. If you turn the volume up (Waaay up) momentarily, you "burn through" the oxidation on the relay and the sound comes back - for awhile. Some day, I'll get in there and replace it with something more robust.
