Question about Radio Communications
Clearing the memory with the squelch button
Your question is lacking much information to get the help you want. You failed to mention what radio you have, make and model will help. As for your question as it relates to most two way radios, the V/M button does not save frequencies to your memories. It only shifts your radio from one mode to the other. If you did not save frequencies to memory's , you will not get any when you enter the M, for Memory mode, also V is for VFO, or Variable Frequency Oscillator. in VFO mode, that is where you type a frequency in on the keyboard, and the radio will tune to it, but only if the frequency is within the range of frequencies that the radio is made to use. For help in saving memories, you need to mention the make and model of the radio. But to educate you past this point, so you may help yourself, go to Google and type the make and model of your radio into the search, one of the links that should come up if you spell it all cirrectly is the web site for the maker of the radio, and all the help you would need shluld be there. In fact, that is just what I would do to answer your question, but since you left all that information out of your question, I could not.
