How do i get squeaking door to stop kenmore

Can you be more specific with the description? Where? Top? Bottom? The best solution is to identify if the alignment is correct. If the alignment is good, look at the hinges for excess wear. If there is no sign of the hinges being worn, needing replaced; apply some light oil, "Three in One Household Oil". This will only take 1 or 2 drops in the pivot point of the hinge. If the alignment needs adjusted the hinges will need moved. You will need the tool (whatever is used by the manufacturer) and something to block the door. Purchase new hinges if they show wear. Loosen or replace the hinges, position the door in the desired position, tighten the hinges securely, careful not to strip out the threads. Check the door function and alignment make adjustments as needed.

I have a sears kenmore elite refrigerator. It is a side by side. The doors don't line up when closed. The freezer side is about 1/4" higher. It looks funny when closed.

there are plastic spacers located at the hinge on the bottom of these units, and they break after wear and tear , they are also beveled so they help the door close,, check to see if yours are in good order, if not you'll have to replace them,, to do this you remove the top hinge,, its just a couple of screws that hold the hinge on under the plastic deco cap ,, once you've done that Lift the door off the lower hinge,, install the spacers, and place the top hinge back once the door is reset

The top door is rusted out where the hinge fits. I want to patch it up to use in my shop. I tryed mounting some flat type door hinges but it don't work well

without knowing the refrigerator its a tough one, but refrigerator hinges are designed to allow the magnetic door seal to seal properly, flat door hinges typically not a good choice for this application
  • Either pop rivet some new metal plate to replace the rusted area and use existing hinge
  • try get replacement door from used refrigerator or refrigerator recycle place.
  • buy new/used fridge from kijiji :)

We are having a difficult time getting the door back on the oven. Can you give us a tip on how to keep the hinges from snapping back when we are trying to hook the himges back onto the rods?

Passing on the solution. Some other blogger helped me, so I hope this will help you. Mine is a Kenmore Gas range, but the hinges might be similar. They are fixed on the door, not on the range. Get a couple sturdy nails or similar items and keep them in your hand. Use your foot to push the hinge all the way down, as if the door were fully open. You should see a hole in the hinge, in which to insert the nail to hold the hinge open. Repeat on the other hinge. Carefully lift the door in place and set the hinges so they hook onto the latches properly. You should be able to open the door a bit to take the tension off the nails. remove the nails, and that should be it. Even if your hinges aren't the same as mine, the principle seems to apply. My problem (maybe yours) was that I couldn't open the hinges and keep them open when trying to replace the door. They just would snap closed. Very frustrating.

Oven door does not close properly, light stays on.

Check the hinges at the bottom corners to see if the spring is still connected and see if the hinge is wore out. The door lifts off the hinge when it's in the partially open position after loosening the screw holding the door in position on the hinge. Slide the oven out a little to access the hinge to replace or inspect.
