78 olds uses a push and pull water controle on the heater hose. Make sure that the cable is working the water valve on.the heater hose. If it is working the valve back and forth then its most likley your heater core stopped up.. take both heater hoses off at the motor. Take your garden hose and flush water threw heater core. USE LOW PRESSURE.. DO NOT TURN YOUR GARDEN HOSE.ON FULL BLAST.. IT COULD MAKE THE HEATER CORE TO START LEAKING IN SIDE YOUR CAR. With.low pressure run water in each.heater hose.till water coming out looks clean. If this dont get you heat. Then check.your thermastat it may be stuck open.

I pretty sure you don't need to get it serviced. I think it turns of because it gets to hot. My computer heater does the same. I hope this helps. (If your heater brakes please don't blame me)

FAN KEEPS RUNNING

Did you just install this or has it been running for a while.
Usually if the fan keeps running and if you just installed it,the temperature settings need to be adjusted, but first make sure the fan switch button (should be the white button) is pulled out completely.
Set your Fan on setting at about 120°F and fan off at about 90°F.
If you get your fan settings to close together when the blower starts it may cycle on and off a few times before finally staying on.
If this has been in service for a while then it's probably bad and needs replaced.
To check it out first make sure the fan switch button is pulled completely out then turn the fan on setting up and see if it will shut off,if it doesn't then it's bad and needs replaced.

MPI 41 Keresene Monitor Heater LIft Pump over-primed?

I recently relocated monitor heater from living room to dining room and ran new line to heater. I have pressed the priming button located on right side and turn unit on, but all that happens is it will click on run for a cycle and burner never ignites and then turns itself off and burner indicator lights continue to blink on and off, I dont think it is getting proper fuel to unit. What do I need to do?

Keeps shutting off and the fan won't come on at all

Thed fan should come on soon after plugging in as long as the heater is cold. The heater then shuts off after sensing no flame. Either the wiring is bad, the fan motor is bad, of the top has been bent down so it is hitting the fan. Remove the top, make sure the fan turns freely and check power to the fan motor. The fan motor also turns the air pump that **** the ful out of the tank. Ck this and let me know if you need help.

The heater fan keeps gpoing

The fan will not shut off immediately. It has a cool down period of up to 5 minutes. Or, the fan limit switch needs adjusting.

Flame wont stay lit

Sounds like a flame sensor problem. The board is not getting the proper signal from the flame sensor so it thinks the burner did not light and shuts the gas supply off. It keeps the blower operating to ensure that no gas is accumulated in the burner area. I suggest you contact a local mechanical contractor to service your heater.
