If you have a laptop did you accidentally lock your mouse-pad? Some pcs will have the mouse-pad lit up slightly when available for use, but when it isn't it might seem duller. Some computers only need a double tap in a specific area of the mousepad to lock it and, if you are not paying attention or aware of the spot, it could accidentally happen. Make sure this is not the case and, if this is not the case, try to provide more details as to what you mean by "not working while logged in" versus, does it work while on but not logged in?

Frozen pointer on my laptop , carnt even log in

Most likely problem is the connector on the mousepad. try and use a USB mouse first to eliminate the mousepad from the equation. if the pointer moves with a mouse then you have solved the problem. If it doesn't you have a bigger problem- either Virus infection or Operating System failure.

My notebook pointer won't work at all; cannot access computer to log on,etc.

I'm replacing the pointer with awired or wireless mouse as suggested by a computer repair person as it would be cheaper than replacing both the pointer and right clicker .

Wireless keyboard and optical mouse

Thanks! I fixed the problem by installing a USB mouse and using fn+f9. That unlocked the mouse so I could use the pointer leaving just the keyboard problem. I then tried reconnecting the wireless keyboard (by using the button on the receiver and under the keyboard) Hey Presto!!

Replace the 2 AA batteries in the mouse and then Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud
