Question about Sharp Televison & Video
I have a sharp television 14 inch. the problem is when i switch on the primary power switch the led turns red then pressing the secondary power the the led turns green then just about a second a clicking sound from the relays and the led turns back to red.
He's dead, Jim. Probably a bad capacitor or diode somewhere. If you can't repair electronics, it's probably not worth the repair bill.

It is self-shutting down Something electrically bad inside. Could be anything. Usually some type of overload on power supply. Need training to troubleshoot.

check for an open resistor on the power supply, it is actually a fusible resistor, (white) if open, then check the converter, some sets have two separate and some have it as one. it will be on a heat sink on the power supply. if shorted then check for a shorted horizontal output transistor and repair cold solder joints on the horizintal drive transformer which is the real cause of this problem

The television has a protection circuit. Sound like you know something about electronics so that is cool.
I suspect the HOT or High Voltage Transformer. If you want to operate on it, they typically will short externally from moisture or plastic high voltage breakdown. The TV starts, shorts as it cannot come to full high voltage, then shuts down. If your brave, you can unsolder the HOT which is the part that is on the main board or that comes from the top of the picture tube wire into a dark or spaceship type object.look underneath, sometimes they short underneath and you can scrap the carbon and get it to at least start up and work. Do not leave this as a fix as it can be a fire hazard.
The HOT is the most common. They are around 20-60 bucks. 34" TV. I am assuming this one without looking it up it is NOT a flat screen, as most do not squeal like that nor do they have to de-gausse like the old ones. I just looked it up and yes it is not a flat screen. Old school, so that is more thank likely the problem.
