I have a OKI C710 printer that I bought from Radio Shack in Mayfield and they set it to just print in monochrome and I am wanting it to print in color again but don't know how to reset it back to factory settings what do I need to do
They probably changed the setting in your operating system. Do you have windows or apple? Beyond that, do you recall if they made this change at the store on the printer itself, or were they tinkering with your PC when they made it monochrome?
Testimonial: "Dan this printer was used by Radio Shack in their store and someone there changed the settings to only print monochrome I am sure it has a password or something I just thought you could bypass it some way and reset it to start printing in color again. Thanks for your help if you could think of anything else I could try I would appreciate it"
SOURCE: How do i identify the font settings set in my printer
Your printer is designed to change font and pitch from the front panel. Just press the SEL/MENU button to take the printer offline. Then press the PRINT QUALITY button (to the right side of the panel) to make the lights switch to different fonts. Finally, press SEL/MENU to activate the changes and return the printer to online status. Be advised, these changes will not be permanent. To make a change permanent, you need to read the user's manual which I can email to you. Finally know that Windows does not pay attention to these settings, they are only goog in text applications such as DOS.

I work for radioshack and its not a driver issue its an actual firmware configuration. it needs some sort of system reset to remove it. I heard there is a "color management" program but i am searching for it at the moment.

Hey, I got it worked out so that it will print color. I called OKIDATA and initially they said they didn't know what to do and you needed to go back to Radio Shack. Then after talking to a supervisor the associate gave me the following instructions to download
1 - go to okidata.com
2 - click on "drivers" at the top of the page
3 - select "color page printer"
4 - select "C6100n"
5 - click "go"
6 - on the new page that comes up, on the left side of the page, click "Utilities"
7 - Scroll down to "English Job Accounting SERVER" and download the file (version 3.54)
8 - After the program is installed, open it and click the Printer Tab and "Add A Printer"
9 - Once the printer is found, it should show up in the list on the right of the screen.
10 - Right-click the printer and select "properties"
11 - Click the "User" tab - there should be in the status row something about "disabled color printing"
12 - Double click on the rows that say that and for each do the following:
1 - Click the "Use Restrictions Tab"
2 - De-select "print in mono" and "disable color printing"
Then when you've done that for each row, Click "ok"
And then you should be good to go. It worked on my computer right after that. I'm directly connected via USB and also connected wirelessly through our small network.

Try this:
While printer is off, hold down plus "+" and minus "-" keys then power printer on and continue to hold the + and - keys until "System Maintenance" appears on the display (you will see "please wait", "initializing", "ram check" before it appears).
When System Maintenance appears press Enter. You will be prompted for a password. The default password is "000000" (six zeroes). [Use the minus key for quicker access to the zeroes and press enter twice after the last zero to enter the menu.]
