Question about Canon Cameras
It is nothing to do with the card lock, nor dirty contacts. As I said, it films fine, but only for 15 secs. exactly each time and then says, and displays in the formatting option, that the card is full.
Hi Jonathan, have you tried looking into the video shooting settings? Some cameras let you choose the resolution that it will shoot video and if it is set very high, it will fill the card quickily.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hi, First, lets try formatting the card. But be aware that it will erase everything on the card. 1 Turn on the camera 2 Press the Menu button 3 Toggle once to the left to get the Setup menu (the one with the hammer/wrench icon) 4 Toggle down to Format 5 Select OK and press the Set button. To perform a low-level format, press the up arrow and then the right arrow to add the check mark. After you do this, exit the menu by pressing the Menu button. Take some still photos first. Download them to the computer but don't delete them from the card yet. Disconnect the camera from the computer (or if you are using a card reader remove the card). Delete the images from the card by using the menu in the playback/review mode. Let me know if this solves anything.

Can you use the card in another device? Can you access the card un a USB card reader? If so, it is possible that the camera cannot handle a card that big. You would need to check the manual to see that it can handle a 4Gb card.

It's a good bet that anything 4GB or greater is a SDHC card (look on the card, see if SDHC is written there). Your A530 was designed before the new SDHC format came out. Sorry, but your camera will not recognize this type of card. Recommend instead that you get a 2GB standard SD card. They're relatively inexpensive these days.
