I have a riello burner 40 it will fire and come to temp but wont refire, goes into lockout

My first guess would be that it sounds like a clogged oil filter, air in your fuel line, is piping overhead, or leak in a fitting or connection causing it to loose it's prime when running.

I have also seen primary controls that are faulty do this, watching the complete cycle of the run time will give you more clues as to when the control actually locks out. Does it lock out during the run cycle as the boiler reaches temp.? If so,check for oil line and suction issues as stated above.

If it locks out on start up after reaching boiler set temperature, if hitting reset right away burner doesn't start and lock out occurs with no motor engaging, check motor (Note: Some motors when HOT will not kick in when powered, but after they cool down naturally they start, motor shaft may also be bound up tight, replacement is necessary) if burner motor spins but does not fire, check for fuel flow to the nozzle, be sure oil is pumping to the nozzle, if it is, clean cad cell eye, and check transformer for spark, if all is good.. replace primary control.

Disclaimer:
Of course all this information is technical troubleshooting information and should be performed by a Licensed Technician, not knowing how to properly test for flame failure can cause injury, fire or worse! Consult a technician in your area if you are not proficient at oil burner repair!

No running hot water in house.

These have a photoelectric eye , much the same as a motion sensor on an outside lamp, just pull this out, clean with a wet wipe, dry with a towel & replace, press the reset switch & your boiler should fire up producing lovely hot water

I have an old solid fuel fire with a back boiler behind it...the pump is making a buzzing noise....some radiators hot some not...please help

Tell us more: What is the Solid Fuel?-- Coal?-- Wood? Is this a Steam boiler?- or a Hot water boiler?-- It sounds like Hot water, for you mention a pump-- Perhaps it is a Hot Water Circulation pump?
Does the Boiler have a sight glass?-- What is the water level?
Tell us more, so we can help you figure things out.

BOILER PRESSURE DOWN HOW TO GET PRESSURE BACK UP

Assuming this is not a steam boiler, your boiler probably has one or more of the following problems; (1) bad vent(s) not stopping after it purges air, (2) bad vent(s) that are blocked and can not purge air, (3) air bound caused by not inspecting #2 (and replenishing water, if needed) on a regular basis, (4) a water leak (low water cut off will prevent boiler from firing up), or (5) a defective supply water valve, or defective supply side check valve, or blocked water line, especially when sediment can easily foul the supply line. We need to look at the expansion tank. Is it water logged from a defective bladder? Is the Air Separator (near the X tank) operating properly? Similar to a vent, but larger, it can get clogged up and cause air to be trapped. Since the boiler will not start, you obviously have a low water condition. Solve that problem and you'll be warm again.

Boiler makes twitching sound and doenst stay on

If the boiler uses oil (#2 fuel diesel); there are several factors that could cause this problem:
* Lack of oil due to clogged oil filter or restricted oil line.
* Cad resistance greater than 1500 ohms.
* Defective Primary control.
* Shoot accumulated on the retention head.
* En pinching flame in combustion chamber.
* Collapsed combustion chamber into firing range.
* There are other reason not listed here.
* Some problems require expensive testing equipment to make an accurate diagnosis.
* Get in touch with an oil burner technician with several years of experience. I have a license to practice in the state of Massachusetts. My number is 978-5443783

Water heater pilot light

it also sounds as though the pilot injector could be blocked so when the boiler comes on it extinguishes the pilot & then when the burner goes off boiler shuts down, or also the pilot rate maynot be set right, so when the main burner kicks in it robs the pilot of the gas it requires.
It could be that, or there is lack of ventilation for the boiler, so you get flame lift off when the boiler fires?

Wood burning stove with integral burner not heating the water eno

When is the last time you brushed out the burner tubes of the boiler? This is how heat transfers and if you have a coating of soot, it will prevent heat transfer. check this and post me back
