The power key is the one at the right end of the top row on the keyboard. It has a symbol that is a circle open at the top with a short vertical line in the opening.

Press and hold that button for a couple of seconds, and let go. In a few more seconds, you should hear the startup chime and see the Apple logo in the center of the screen.

If it doesn't start, check to make sure the power cable is attached and the indicator light on the connector is lit, and try again.

Computer Freezes when my, or other's webcam gets turned on-Window

Hello, it looks like you use an XP system on a Mac isn't it? Then you are using boot camp or parallels to boot on windows...
Something you can do is use aMsn on Mac OS X that supports webcams and all kinds of messenger accounts.
you will probably find what you need here:

Won't turn on.

Hello, sorry to hear your having problems,
Well, technically, your mac is turning on but won't boot up properly.
Is this something that suddenly happened after a crash or some other event that caused your mac to shut down?
Did you install or remouve a hard drive or CD/DVD device ?
Do you have a CD or a DVD installed ?
whatever the cause, you will need to find your original MacOS CD's to fix this.
Insert the disk that is called installation disk 1 and then force the mac to shutdown by holding dow the power on key for a little longer than 5 seconds. Now, turn the Mac on and press and HOLD the ( C ) key on the keyboard. This will force the Mac to boot from your CD.
If the Mac boots properly on the CD, Say OK to the first few questions then go into the menu bar and select the disk utilities ..
In Disk Utilities, you should see your internal disk appear on the left hand side ready to be repaired, perform a repair disk on it as well as a repair permissions if possible... DON'T ERASE OR INITIALISE OR PARTITION, you will lose everything.
If it is a New hard Drive, simply partition it and install MacOS from the CD and you're off to the races..
If the Drive does not appear in Disk Utilities, it would appear that the drive is KAPUT.
Does it make any strange noise ? If so, sorry, it's dead.

Used Mac software update on a G4 portable two weeks ago and now when I use it it hangs. Any way to fix this problem??

Hi, Sorry you are having problems,
Try this:
restart your Mac, and VERY QUICKLY, press the following 4 keys and hold them until the mac does a restart 4 times, it is called resetting the PRAM:
cmd + alt + P + R
then, after 4 startup chimes,
switch to these 4 buttons:
cmd + alt + O + F
you will enter the Open Firmware interface.
type this, exactly:
reset-nvram then hit return
reset-all then hit return
your Mac will restart,
then, VERY QUICKLY, hold down the shift key ( not caps lock, but caps ) and hold it until the mac stats to boot, you see the progress wheel under the grey apple logo, this is called booting with extentions disabled,
the boot up process is much Much longer than usual, it is performing a fsck disk repair
Then, Log in and run disk utilities and repair the permissions, do it over and over again until there are no errors...
Also, verify the disk to see if there are any obvious disk problems.
Then, once that is all done and there are no disk errors, SHUT DOWN your mac and then boot it up normally, .....
See if that helps.....
If it does not help, you are going to have to re-install Mac OS using the archive and install feature.
Good luck.

Memory chip

i dont wish to upset you or anything like that, but remove and reinstall the memory chip ? memory refers to RAM, RAM is only removed and replaced if either faulty or more is installed.

The RAM is easily reachable, turn the laptop upside down, remove the power and the battery.
