Hello Carl;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

There are several possibilities so lets start with the most probable:

First, you will need to have a multi-meter. Set the meter on Ohms the lowest setting (X1). Touch the two meter leads together. Observe the meter reading. When you touch the contact ends with the meter leads you should see a reading of '0'. if the component is good. Any other reading the component is bad.
A multi-meter is relatively inexpensive. You can purchase one for about $20.00 - $30.00. This is a wise investment. You can use the meter to determine bad components on all of your appliances and more.
Ok, you do not have a multi-meter. Well then we are going to jump the component. For this we will need about a 12 or 14 gage wire approximately 6" long. Strip the wire about 2 inches back on each end.

HP 1315 printer won't turn on

I have an HP printer too, but it's HP 2050. When i plug it in it usually makes a noise and then the power button blinks. To turn it on requires me to hold the power button down for a few seconds until the power button light stays on. If you haven't tried yet, try pushing down and hold and see if it turns on. Hope this helps :)

Incoming Power Problem If the washer won't start check to see if there is power at the electrical outlet which the washer is plugged into. Plug a lamp or radio into the outlet to check it. If the outlet is dead, check the circuit breakers or fuses for the home.

Power Cord If the washer won't start, check to be sure there is power to the electrical outlet for the home. If that is OK, the power cord itself might be defective. This is rare. You can check the power cord with an Ohm meter for continuity.
User Control and Display Board If the washer won't start, the user control and display board may be defective. Check for power to the washer first.

Timer If the washer won't start the timer might be defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components before replacing this timer.

Line Fuse If the washer won't start the line fuse might have blown.

Thermal Fuse If the washer won't start the thermal fuse may have blown. It can be tested for continuity. Watch our fuse testing video for more information.

Line Fuse and Holder If the washer won't start the line fuse might have blown, or the line fuse holder might be damaged and need to be replaced.

Main Control Board If the washer won't start the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other parts and causes first.

Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't start the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't start the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

I assume you refer to the AC power cord.
Was the TV turned ON when you pulled the plug?
You may have to find the RESET button and push it.
The location of the RESET button is in your owner's manual.

Hi.

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.

Good luck.

My Xbox won't turn on

Do you have the replacement power cord (from the power cord recall)? If so, this has a built-in circuit breaker, and a button to reset it.
