Download the trios manual and connections chart then connect the black and screen to the ground of the plugin socket using a bridge wire ie connect black and screen on the mic then connect them to a small bridge wire then to the ground pin and also the moto plugs metals then usualy white or yellow is audio and orange or brown it TX switching
you can use a multimeter and connect its negative to the ground and set the meter to beep test or low ohms then as i say orange or brown press the TX pedel a low ohms or beep indicates the TX switching the rest is carefull wireup just be warned most ham radios will supply 12v or 9v to the mic socket up and down etc if you have these controls are data so will just read like 10k when pressed relative to ground so you need to set the meter to 20k range etc to get these controls

good luck and post how you got on

How hard is it to replace the finals in a kenwood ts-2000

Hi Damon,

It's Bloomin' hard, and it's tricky if you have little technical knowledge.

Yes Kenwood is a darn good brand, so to keep your Kenwood darn good, pay for the repairs, it's darn worth it.

Mike wire color coat.

1 is shield (and may also need blue for astatic mic or red for turner mic)
2 is audio (white on astatic and turner mics)
3 is Transmit (Red on astatic mic or blue on turner mic)
4 is receive (Black on both astatic and turner mics)
If your mic isn't an astatic or turner, email me with what mic that you have and I'll try to help.

Yellow wire on astatic 636L

that depends on what radio you want to use it with however looking at the astatic wiring handbook it doesn't seem to be used on most radios.

good luck
