I would suggest that you get a password manager. If you use lastpass, you'll only have to remember one master password. I don't understand why more people don't use this excellent tool

SOURCE: I helped a friend set

Hello,

It sounds like the internet browser you are using saved his login information. Go to Gmail and when you are inside his account you can log off by going to the top right of Gmail and clicking the profile name. You should get a drop down box. Select "sign out". Once it signs out of his account you should be back at the login screen. You can now enter your login information.

Please comment back if you have any questions.

Regards,
G33k

Can't get in my Google changed my number. Forgot password

Changing numbers have no impact on your google account.
I recommend that you use a laptop or PC to ask for a new password. Just open a browser and type: google.com Then input your email address and click on forgot password. Google will ask you some security question. Once you have that sorted out, save the new password in a safe place, and use this very same information in your new phone. Best of luck.

I forgot my password and i no longer have that number thAT I USE TO SET UP ACCOUNT. HOW CAn i get into my account so i can access my facebook account.

If mobile confirmation was the only type of security you used or setup, then you cannot get your account back if you don't know your password, and changed your mobile number. This is why it is important to fully setup your gmail security settings, so you have multiple routes of recovery.

How do i get into my google mail account when i am locked out n the recovery info is mested up or not upto date.

If there is no way you can prove to google that the person who setup the account is you, they won't reset your password (and that's the say it should be anyway).

It is very important to fill in right the security questions when you are creating any account (gmail, yahoo, etc).

Did you register your mobile number as backup? because in that case you can specify the recovery to mobile phone, and google will send you an SMS with instructions to reset your password to your phone.
There's another option to get an automated phone call back to your registered mobile phone number.

There you go, google has a few methods to recover your account (but you've got to put a bit of yourself).

I have an old gmail I can't access- forgot passwords...gotten new phones..and my verify info is not working- I opened a new account but a lot of other accounts are linked to it....how do I get it opened or...

recovery by email:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/183726
Recovery email address You don't have to provide a recovery email address, but we strongly encourage you to. Once you've started using Google as a signed-in user, we'll use your recovery email address to communicate with you under the following circumstances:
  • We need to confirm your username after you create an address
  • You can't sign in to Google
  • You've forgotten your password
  • You're about to run out of storage space
  • We need to alert you to any unusual activity involving your address
If you use Gmail, you may have added a recovery email address to your account when you first signed up. If you don't use Gmail, your password recovery address is the email address you used to sign up for your account (for example:myusername@yahoo.com)
To change or add a recovery address:
  1. Go to your Google Account Settings page.
  2. Scroll down to the "Signing in" box.
  3. Click Recovery email.
  4. Add your recovery email address.
  5. Click Done.
Your recovery address should be an email address that you use regularly.

recovery by phone:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/183728

Having a mobile phone number on your account is one of the easiest and most reliable ways to help keep your account safe and ensure that you can get back into your account if your account is taken over or you forget your password. Your mobile phone is a more secure identification method than your recovery email address or a security question because, unlike the other two, you have physical possession of your mobile phone.
Hackers target accounts without phones because they're easier targets. Add a phone and join hundreds of millions of other Google users who have helped stop hackers in their tracks.

To add a recovery phone number to your account:

  1. Go to your Google Account Settings page
  2. In the Personal info section, click Phone.
  3. In the Recovery phone section, click to add a recovery phone number if you don't have one yet.

Ways we will use your mobile phone number

We'll only use your mobile phone number to ensure the security of your account. Here are some ways we'll use it:
  • To challenge people when they try to take ownership of your account
  • To send you a verification code so you can get into your account if you ever lose access
  • To provide an alternate way for you to verify that you own an account
  • To help prevent people from getting into your account by guessing the answer to your security question
  • Optional: To alert you to possible threats to your account's security (for example, when your password is changed)

Ways we won't use your mobile phone number

Unless you make a specific request, we won't use your mobile phone number for anything other than protecting your account. For example, unless you tell us to, we'll never:
  • Sell your phone number to other companies or organizations
  • Call you for marketing purposes
  • Publish your phone number online

What type of phone you should use

You should use a mobile phone number so that you always have access to it. It's important that you can receive security alerts as soon as possible so that you can help keep your account safe.

I forgot my email password my email adress is sa.stoltz@gmail.com

You can recover the password for your Gmail account by either asking Gmail to send you a recovery message or email on your phone number or secondary email ID respectively (that you may have mentioned in your Gmail profile at the time of signing up or anytime later). Also, you can recover your password by answering the security question that you may have set at the time of signing up.

To know how to use the above options to recover your password, you can follow the instructions on the Google account recovery page below:
