These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. Will not always power up, just clicks and power light flashes. Vertical retrace lines at top 2" of screen. Keeps shrinking and goes completely away after about 5 minutes.


The JVC sets are well known for this type of problem, the tv has a vertical deflection issue needs a few small parts and a touch up on the vertical ic, causes the set to shutdown. I recommend a tv technician for the repair.

THE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL COLORS DO NOT LINE UP.IT KIND OF LOOKS LIKE THE PICTURE IS IN 3D.


Thats caused by failed convergence ICs and feed resistors. You can get the JVC repair kit called the AV48WP74 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the ICs , resistors and the CD with repair instructions.

Tv has no picture


try adjust screen in flyback, if you see a white line in bottom, the vertical ic have cold solder or is bad.

it could be an electrolytic capacitor or the vertical output I.C. in the vertical circuitry,if you remove the rear cover tap on the board in different places and see if the picture fills out or atleast jitters like it might fill out,then it could be just a cold solder joint,then remove the main board and resolder all joints and this should repair the condition you have

It sounds like you have bad solder connections in the Vertical circuit or the horizontal circuit. The Vertical IC may need to be replaced if resoldering does not help.
You will need to call a good TV Tech for this repair.
