More likely you have an overloaded starter drawing too much current or the starter is partially shorted.

Why is my battery boiling over 94 Telstar tx5 ghia

Your alternator is overcharging the battery VERY VERY BADLY. DO NOT drive that car until the voltage regulator is fixed!

I have 2000 Nissan Sentra w/1.8 engine. Check engine light, airbag light have come on and the battery has "boiled over". Had previously noticed smell of gasoline and engine smelled "hot". Checked

battery do boil, may be bad battery, check the volts 12,5 off to 14.7 max running, this car needs head gasket checked by looking to se if the coolant is too high in the bottle or too low

Hi would heated grips added to a honda transalp 600 cause the batterie to boil.thanks

No--but.... Heated grips will only put an added load on a battery, and that won't cause boiling of a battery. What WILL cause a battery to boil is overcharging or charging at too fast a rate. Now, then--when you add heated grips to the bike and you make a mistake somewhere in the wiring, you can affect the charging rate, and it's possible that a voltage regulator/charging system sees more current being drawn than it's used to and it's trying to replace that current as well as charge the battery, and it's feeding a higher voltage/current to the battery than was intended by the designers. You can check this out--put a voltmeter on the battery terminals, run the engine, and turn on your heated grips. A normal charging voltage for a vented lead acid battery should be about 13.8 to 14.4 volts; yours may go a little higher. If you're seeing a lot higher than 14.4 volts, you either have a defective voltage regulator or perhaps such a bad battery that it's screwing up your charging circuit.

1999 honda odyssey won't turn over turn key nothing but lights work

the first test. is jumper cable cranks.
the lights only use 1/50th the current of a starter, and dont prove anything. (eg. bad batteries do run lights great, can prove.)

juimp start it,
good, yes. bad battery; battery dischanged,or bad charging system
or left on the lights. too long.
bad jump, this means the cranking system is bad.
bad crank.
1: cables from battery to starter, corroded.
2: bad cables. split open and green copper everywhere.
3: I hot wire the stater solenoid, if fails (good battery and cables )
then it is a bad starter, (i hit it with a hammer, and bam it cranks
great tick to get of of big time trouble , far off grid or? danger zones...

4: hot wire fails.
bad KEY line.
if key oine fails wiggle the A/T shift handle, cranks now?
try neutral cranking, (fresher contacts here, magic happens)

IF a stick shift car nows the time.....

ask how to hot wire or look here.
see test 1 here "hot wiring techniques"

I have M/T and park on hills and start by rolling starts.
i dont need a good battery, in my 1968 xxxxx (1/2 joking)

Saturn vue batter boiling blowing relays

what is an ignition relay, ?
did you blow fuses?
what fuels, and battery boiling (running or not?)
running boil , would be overcharging , a bad alternator, or wiring to same.
not running boiling is crazy levels of battery loads.
if in my shop, out comes the AMPclamp meter, to find out
who is sucking extreme currents. and why fuses are not blowing
did some (#@!$) put in over size fuses, inviting a nice fire?
but if you have no tools? what can you do.
little, hold wet finger in air?
you could disconnect things and stop the drain
put them back 1 at a time (days work) an find the part that sucks
too much juice.

send photo with finger pointing to said relay.

I have a 1989 crown victoria and i have a small battery on it does it matter the size of the battery, because sometimes it starts and when i' am driving it for a while then shut it off and then try to...

The smaller battery could be over charging unless picked up by the voltage regulator, and heat is a slow killer. Cars require different amps to start. The main thing to look at is the Cold Cranking Amps. Which is the amps being put out at 0F or -18c. As for the antifreeze it wouldnt hurt to test is for freezing point and boiling point which are majour factors. The worst could be antifreeze in the oil.

2003 chevy impala overheated and now no power and wont restart

The overheating will not have anything to do with the lost of power for cranking or the lights not working. Try charging the Battery and start over.
