Question about Computers & Internet
The video card on the mother board is probably burning out. In most HP DV series laptops the video card is not properly ventilated because it lies to far from the fans cooling system. Unfortunately with a laptop, changing the video card can be as challenging as being a one legged man in an @$$ kicking contest, and can cost more than a new laptop. You may be able to prolong the demise of your laptop by taking it apart and heating up the video card portion with a hair dryer or anything that gets hot enough to melt the solder.
